What people love about Fully Guided Tours in Israel
- Highlights of Israel - 8 days
This was a great tour and very well run! Tour guide Anna and our driver Jesse were so great. One word that can describe an awesome driver would be spectacular. IAnna was very knowledgeable of the history and sites we visited. All rooms were comfortable, food was great, and time to shop was also a wonderful experience. Most of all, I've met new friends from abroad while touring.
- Discover Israel
Informative and interesting historical and biblical sites. Accommodations and food were very good and guides and drivers were friendly. Only real glitch was pairing English speaking and Spanish speaking tourists together. Lead tour guide had to repeat everything in both languages. Both sets of tourists were frustrated as it slowed things down. Queue line control at the church of the holy sepulcher was lousy, allowing people to cut lines; and at one point the line didn’t move at all from 3:00 until 4:15. By 5:00, they rushed everyone through — if they maintained flow speed throughout the day instead of just at the end and had more queue line discipline, people could get through faster and suffer less frustration. Jordan river— site near Jericho had putrid looking water; should use a site closer to the Sea of Galilee where the water is cleaner. Dead Sea was disappointing— staff would not allow people to swim or float — only wading.
- Jewish Israel Tour Package, 8 Days
Tour was very good. Hotel in Jerusalem was old dirty and in dire need of upgrade. Also didn't feel safe walking around hotel. Hotel in TEL Aviv was excellent. The tour guides were all nice and informative
What our customers ask about Israel Guided Tours & Trips
What level of accommodation can I expect on a fully guided Israel tour?
Accommodations range from mid-range 3-star to high-end 5-star properties across Israel's main tourist centers. In Jerusalem travelers can choose between established properties like the Grand Court Hotel (4-star) which offers comfortable rooms or the historic American Colony Hotel (5-star) known for its elegant architecture. Tel Aviv's options include the centrally located Metropolitan Hotel and the beachfront Carlton Hotel. Guest feedback consistently highlights location and comfort with one TourRadar traveler noting: "Hotels were great especially in Jerusalem where we stayed at the Dan Panorama with its perfect location near the Old City."
What is included in the meal arrangements on fully guided Israel tours?
The standard meal plan starts with daily Israeli buffet breakfasts at hotels. Additional meals are generally left flexible allowing travelers to explore local dining options independently. Tours offer half-board upgrades that add dinner service for approximately $215 USD per person. Local guides regularly direct guests to neighborhood restaurants for authentic regional dishes. According to a TourRadar traveler: "The hotel breakfasts were excellent with great variety of fresh Israeli foods and local specialties."
What is the best time of year for a guided tour in Israel?
The prime seasons for Israel tours fall during spring (March-May) and autumn (September-November) when temperatures are moderate. Summer visits (June-August) bring heat particularly at desert sites like Masada and the Dead Sea. Winter tours (December-February) encounter mild temperatures with occasional rain. Jerusalem's elevated position means cooler weather than coastal Tel Aviv. A TourRadar traveler shares: "We went in April and had perfect weather for walking tours in Jerusalem and floating in the Dead Sea."
How do guides enhance the experience at historical and religious sites?
Licensed Israeli guides serve as cultural interpreters offering historical context and religious significance at each location. Their expertise proves particularly valuable at complex sites like Jerusalem's Western Wall and the ancient fortress of Masada where layers of history intersect. A TourRadar traveler observed: "Our guide was a walking encyclopedia who brought every site to life with fascinating stories and historical details that we would have missed on our own."
How do the fully guided tours handle transportation between sites?
Modern air-conditioned vehicles staffed by professional drivers connect all destinations on the itinerary. Many tours include airport transfers or offer them as optional add-ons. Tours typically begin from central points in Tel Aviv or Jerusalem. One TourRadar traveler reported: "Transportation was excellent with comfortable vehicles and skilled drivers navigating Israel's diverse terrain from coast to desert."
What kind of physical activity level should I expect on these tours?
Tours require moderate physical activity with daily walking segments lasting 2-3 hours. Terrain varies from cobblestone streets in Jerusalem's Old City to desert paths at Masada. While routes accommodate most fitness levels basic mobility is essential. A TourRadar traveler shares: "The tour involved significant walking but our guide was considerate of the group's pace especially in Jerusalem's narrow streets and Masada's archaeological ruins."
What should I pack for a fully guided tour in Israel?
Essential items include modest clothing that covers shoulders and knees for religious sites sturdy walking shoes a swimming suit for the Dead Sea and versatile layers for temperature changes. The ancient stone streets of Jerusalem's Old City demand practical footwear. Per a TourRadar traveler: "Don't forget a hat and water bottle - our guide at Masada emphasized staying hydrated. The modest dress code at religious sites was strictly enforced."
