What people love about Active Tours in Greece
- Wild Mountains & Rivers Adventure
it was an excellent choice of ours to enjoy a trip under Trailsbeyond guidance. The places were amazing and it seemed like we wouldn't find our way around if it wasn't for Dane, our guide, who reveiled to us the most special corners of the area we visted. Rafting in Voidomati was so much fun and the hike through vikos gorge was an unforgettable experience. It's nice to combine the feeling of safety and adventure without losing the leisure feeling of one's own holiday! We would repeat it any time and recommend it to everybody!
- Highlights of Ancient Greece
This was a wonderful tour! It covers a great variety of sites, across Greek history. We also enjoyed beach time! Our guide, Eva, did a fantastic job and handled unexpected things with ease. There was a strike one day at she learned about it in advance and shuffled the schedule, so we still got to see everything, but it didn’t feel overly rushed, nor did the strike day feel empty or wasted. Our driver, Alex, was equally great and maneuvered our bus through tight spaces and winding roads with ease. The hotels were surprisingly nice, more than I expected from group tour 3* hotels, all with A/C. All of my rooms, but one, had a balcony and most had a fantastic view! All of the beds, but one, were very comfortable and the breakfast was good at the vast majority of hotels.
- Tracing the Steps of Hercules in the Peloponnese and Delphi 10 days
We recently completed the 10-day tour “Tracing the Steps of Hercules in the Peloponnese”; it was a truly wonderful adventure. We made stops at most of the legendry locations for Hercules’ 12 Labors. But in addition to that we experienced the many famous and little known sites in the Peloponnese of multiple eras: from the time of Homer to the powerful kings of Mycenae to isolated monasteries from the Byzantine age and up into the influences of the Venetians only 200 years ago. It was the diversity in both sites and activities that kept the trip lively and fulfilling. Our days were loaded: in the morning we might visit a ruin and museum, have a leisurely lunch at a beach taking in a swim and then off to another site, ending the day at one of a number pleasant towns. We traveled from the sea to the mountains, from ancient to not quite as old, from small cities to tiny villages and from touristy to remote. Some of the roads, I know, I would never have found (much less driven) and thus missed the unique experience around it’s corner. We had special treats of wine tasting, hidden beaches, old olive press techniques and homage to the little known Temple of Hercules. Thank you George and company for providing us such a well-rounded and fun filled trip.
