Private Egypt Tour Reviews
- Pharaohs and Pyramids (Luxury Private tour)
If you want to see Egypt without being part of a huge tour group, I highly recommend Vacations To Go. Their systems appear to be tailored to small groups. Their comfortable mini-busses hold no more than nine passengers, and if you are lucky you might end up in a "group" of two or four. Thus their guides are able to personalize their services and adapt to the preferences of their clients - whether it's a taste for adventure, a love of history, or a limiting physical disability. The guides (ours were Mansour and Sam) are knowledgeable and speak good English. Mansour in particular was very thoughtful about planning our sightseeing to accommodate our physical limitations without missing anything. The tours were well planned to see not just the highlights that everyone wants to visit, but also some amazing things you don't expect. For example, the pyramids are indeed impressive, but I was even more impressed by the beautiful artwork and hieroglyphic texts on the inside walls of some minor tombs This company put us up in the best hotels and treated us like royalty. We could not have asked for a better Egypt experience. We took a 10-day tour, not counting travel; it included Cairo and Giza, a 4-day cruise up the Nile, and a two-day extension to Alexandria.

we had a really great time in Cairo with Hind she was super knowledgeable and really brought the stories to life. Also, he’s a good photographer, so I now have a camera roll full of fantastic photos from Cairo and Alexandria i highly recommend Hind as your guide, also i would like to thank Tarek our Rep at the airport he was very helpful and professional over all it was a great trip.
- 3-Day Sahara Escape: White Desert & Bahariya Oasis Private Adventure from Cairo
We went on this tour excited to see a completely different world from the bustling streets of Cairo, and boy was I in for a treat. Our driver Miguel was quiet at first but turned out to be an incredibly charismatic and funny companion that we’re never going to forget. The trip itself was really flexible. You can go to the black desert, Agabad valley, crystal mountain, Bahariya oasis, and white desert (but you can skip some if you’d like). I would recommend skipping just crystal mountain because it’s nothing more than a few tiny hills with crystalline formations visible only up close, but the rest of the places were amazing. The white desert is a fitting finale to the trip. The sky is ridiculously clear and free of light pollution and my friend and I stayed up all night to stargaze and walk around the white desert which is just a perfectly comfortable temperature in the fall. At nightfall we had a hearty dinner that Miguel made for us. with what little Arabic I knew and what little English he knew, we still managed to make a beautiful connection and even crack jokes. After dinner we joined the other groups around campfires and listened to them play Bedouin music and dance around the fire. The drive back after overnight camping was sobering even though we were excited about the rest of the trip. I have no idea if you get to have your choice of drivers but if you do, I highly recommend Miguel. I know he’s too humble to put himself on the spot so I’m happy to do it for him. The only major spot in Egypt I didn’t get to go to was Alexandria and I have to say this was definitely one of my top 2 activities here!
What our customers ask about Private Egypt Tours
What kind of accommodation can you expect on a private tour in Egypt?
Most private Egypt tours include 5-star hotels in central or scenic locations. In Cairo, travelers often stay at the Steigenberger Pyramids for its close-up view of the Giza Plateau or at the Four Seasons Nile Plaza if you prefer to be downtown. On the coast, hotels like Hilton Hurghada offer easy beach access. Nile cruises are part of many itineraries with ships like the MS Concerto or Sonesta St. George offering spacious cabins, full meals, and rooftop lounges. As one traveler put it, “The hotel selection was lovely and the luxury cruise offered delicious meals. The Four Seasons upgrade made our stay extra special.”
What’s the best time of year to take a private tour in Egypt?
Between October and April, the weather is cooler and more comfortable for long days outside. Cairo and the pyramids get busy around December and January, while Luxor and Aswan are at their liveliest from November to February. Summer, especially from June through August, brings high temperatures but also lower prices and fewer tourists. One traveler said, “We went in March and the weather was perfect — warm enough to enjoy the pool at Mena House but comfortable for exploring the Valley of the Kings.”
How long should you plan for a full private Egypt itinerary?
A trip of 9 to 12 days is usually enough to see the major highlights without feeling rushed. Most travelers spend two or three days in Cairo, then fly to Luxor for a Nile cruise that ends in Aswan. Some itineraries include Abu Simbel or time at the Red Sea. A traveler shared, “The 10-day tour was perfect — enough time to see everything without feeling rushed, with luxury accommodations to relax between sightseeing.”
What does a private tour in Egypt typically cost?
A 10-day private tour with premium hotels, a luxury cruise, and domestic flights usually costs between $5,000 and $10,000 per person depending on the hotel and cruise level. Shorter tours or those with fewer upgrades can start around $3,500. Prices often include a private guide, ground transport, and most meals. One traveler said, “While not cheap, the value was exceptional given the luxury accommodations, private guide, and seamless organization throughout the journey.”
What kind of transportation is included in private Egypt tours?
Transportation usually includes a private vehicle with a professional driver for sightseeing, airport pickups, and day trips to places like Alexandria. Most longer distances between cities like Cairo, Luxor, and Aswan are covered by domestic flights. Nile cruises provide the river leg of the trip, with cabins that come with large beds, en-suite bathrooms, and river views. One traveler noted, “Our driver was excellent and made us feel safe throughout the journey with careful driving.”
What’s the best way to experience the Nile River on a private tour?
Most Nile cruises last three or four nights between Luxor and Aswan and include guided visits to temples like Kom Ombo and Edfu. Ships like the MS Mayfair and MS Concerto have private cabins, full-service meals, and sundecks for watching the river. Many travelers also add a short felucca sail in Aswan, often in the evening. One traveler shared, “The Nile cruise, camel ride by the pyramids, and boat ride to a Nubian village were all lifetime experiences.”
What’s included in a private tour beyond accommodation and transport?
Private tours usually include a licensed Egyptologist guide, entrance to major sites, and domestic flights when needed. Most also cover daily breakfast, and many include dinners or lunches depending on the itinerary. The guide stays with you throughout the trip and handles everything from museum entries to timing site visits around crowds. The goal is to make the experience feel personal and smooth from start to finish.
