Itinerary
- Day 1
Nuuk to Kapisillit
You'll take a boat transfer through Greenland's second largest fiord system, heading from Nuuk toward Kapisillit with chances to spot wildlife along the way. Once you arrive at the dock, there's a 3 km hike on flat terrain that brings you to basecamp on a peninsula with views out over the ice fiord. After settling in, you'll spend the rest of the day taking in the landscape and getting oriented to your surroundings.

Kapisillit
Start this morning with breakfast while looking out at mountain views over the ice fiord. You'll spend the full day hiking toward Massif Niggu, which rises nearly 1000 meters. There's flexibility here - you can stop partway up at a scenic lunch spot or push to the summit for panoramic views. Watch for reindeer, ptarmigans, snow hares, foxes, and eagles throughout the hike. Back at basecamp by evening, you have the option to fish for dinner or gather local herbs, mushrooms, and berries. You'll also prep for the two-day inland hike coming up.

Inland Lakes Exploration
This is a full day of hiking through untouched Greenlandic terrain toward inland lakes. You'll move across varying landscape types, taking time to absorb the views as you go. Once you reach your destination, you'll set up camp for the night. After settling in, there are optional activities available - fishing for arctic char, a cold swim, or an evening walk along the lake while the sun stays high.

Inland Lakes to Kapisillit
Break down your camp in the morning and backtrack before heading toward the mountain massif, transitioning from the lowlands to higher terrain. You'll hike to a cone-shaped mountain viewpoint surrounded by lakes - a spot with strong potential for wildlife viewing. Lunch happens at this scenic location. From there, you'll return to basecamp to prepare a feast for the evening. If you're interested, you can optionally enjoy whiskey alongside a piece of ancient ice to mark the day.

- Day 5
Kapisillit
Today's hike takes you to a historic lake and natural pool where Vikings bathed during summer more than 1000 years ago. The pool sits hidden among bushes and rocks, and from here you'll have views across the bay. There's an optional stop at the nearby home of the northernmost sheep farmer if you want to learn about life in such a remote location. You can also choose to take a cold dip in the pool to connect with the area's Viking past.

Landmarks Norse Bath Lake - Day 6
Kapisillit
You'll follow reindeer and local tracks heading northwest toward higher elevation and a plateau region. Multiple exploration routes into less-traveled terrain are available, and you'll have clear views of the ice fiord throughout. Snow hares, ptarmigans, and reindeer are likely to appear. The established paths you'll follow have been used by locals and reindeer herds for decades, so navigation is straightforward.

Kapisillit to Nuuk
Pack down basecamp and take a final look at your campsite location before heading out. The hike follows the south side of Kapisillit bay toward the village. Along the way, you'll stop at the only river in Greenland where salmon spawn to try hand-catching arctic char using traditional local techniques. After that, you'll complete the final kilometers to Kapisillit village to explore and talk with residents. Your boat transfer back to Nuuk concludes the expedition.
