Our trip In the wake of Erik the Red departing on 29th July includes a one-way flight from Kangerlussuaq to Copenhagen after the voyage. The flight has a stopover in Keflavik, offering you the option to disembark and extend your stay in Reykjavik or Iceland. Please note, this stop is brief and intended for those who do not wish to continue to Copenhagen. If you prefer to continue to Copenhagen, you remain on board. Each customer is responsible for booking their own flight from Copenhagen to their final destination. The flight to Reykjavik, where the expedition begins, is not included in the package, so customers must arrange their own travel to Reykjavik independently.

This year, the "In the Wake of Erik the Red" marathon tour, which begins in Greenland and ends in Reykjavik, will be partially chartered for a marathon event. On September 8th, about half of the travelers will be participating in a marathon in Ilimanaq. For those not participating, this won't impact the itinerary—non-runners will continue with their planned activities, which include a scenic hike and a traditional Greenlandic kaffemik (cultural coffee gathering). This year's departure offers a 50% discount and includes a one-way flight from Copenhagen to Kangerlussuaq. Please note that you'll need to arrange your own return flight from Reykjavik. Additionally, the trip allows for some independent exploration of Iceland after the main tour. For next year, no marathon is planned, with the tour departing on August 30th 2025. It's important to note that the Disko Bay voyage is only scheduled for next year from August 16th to 23rd, 2025. Overall, our Disko Bay departure is designed to provide a deeper exploration of Greenland, while the "In the Wake of Erik the Red" voyage includes a few more "sea days."

Albatros Expeditions offers solo travelers the option of occupying a cabin by themselves (in exchange for paying a single supplement of 75%. Category E (french window): 9 190+75% = 16083 - 50% = USD. Category C (with balcony): 10 090+75% = 17 658 - 50% = 8829 USD. We also have 1 space left in a category F cabin (porthole), where you would be matched with 2 other same-gendered solo travelers for 7290 - 50% = 3645 USD/person.

You have complete control over your walking activities. During landings in Greenland, you can either join the group for a walk or explore on your own. If you prefer not to join the scheduled activities, you have the option to explore the city independently or spend time on the ship.
