As we can appreciate your feedback, it to be grossly incorrect. The itinerary never changed; the tour ran as exactly advertised. There was never any ‘touring’ happening on day one other than checking into the hotel, having a wine & cheese reception with dinner to follow. It also reads that on day three we depart the hotel for Herkimer, have lunch and then take the Erie Canal Cruise. It does not say we go back to the hotel. You and the other party traveling with you chose to fly into Rochester, where Syracuse would have been a much better option, and without calling and asking any questions of the trip, both parties requested a pre and post night at the hotel, which we accommodated and handled for you. We had individuals on this trip fly into Syracuse, where we picked them up at the airport, and then return back out of Albany. Passengers who did this called to see what would work best for them to meet up with the tour, in this case you did not. This whole thing is based on your assumptions, and not reading the itinerary clearly, or the travel documents that were mailed to you. We find it offensive that you judge people by their age, as we are very clear in our advertising that our company specializes in trips for passengers 55+. If a group of seniors would like to join a tour, they are more than welcome, and this group was not from an assisted living community, as you so rudely assumed and stated. The other half of the group, over 20 passengers, were general public travelers. You, and your fellow travelers, never once joined the group on the bus and we find it odd transportation was rated 1-star. In fact, the bus was waiting for you the next morning, to find that you drove to the boat dock instead of being part of the group. The night before you were informed, as everyone was, when and what time the bus would be leaving. Plus, you were texted about the next day's activities. At no time on this tour were you disrespected, as you all chose not to be part of the group and drove yourselves everywhere. You left the Erie Canal before the coach did. It is unfortunate that due to your own misrepresentation of this tour, you feel the need to disparage two companies. Everything that was advertised was outlined in the tour package and was exactly what all passengers received. For future reference, maybe you might want to ask questions of a tour company before making assumptions. Read what the day-to-day itinerary is, and what is included, that might have helped you in this case.
