- ANAshley· August 12th, 2023Majit was a superb guide, extraordinary storyteller, and fabulous traveling companion. He made each whisky distillery tour special knowing the people at each one and a lot about the whiskies. The stay at the Bowmore bed and breakfast was delightful. The food was excellent and the room was clean, cozy and very comfortable. Andrew and Allison were perfect hosts. We enjoyed the cultural stops and the history talks as we drove. The country really came alive for us in ways we hadn’t expected!Show moreScottish Routes commented on this reviewHello Ashley, Thank you so much for this wonderful review. We're delighted you had a great time with Maj and enjoyed your stay at The Bowmore House :) Kind regards ClareTrip date: July 2023
- JBJudith· October 11th, 2021Automatic translation available in English. View in EnglishOverall, a very nice tour with our driver Moray. Unfortunately, we could only visit a distillery from the inside, but that was due to the hygiene requirements. Very good was the B&B Bowmore House. The operator - couple took care of us very lovingly! Big compliments to all who made this trip an unforgettable experience!Show moreTrip date: October 2021
- SRSandra· September 1st, 2019This is part of the email I sent to Scottish Routes: "The itinerary was excellent – very well planned; the accommodation on Islay was most pleasant, hosts Andrew and Alison vey hospitable; we were fortunate to travel with a very interesting and varied group of people and the transport provided was very comfortable. Unfortunately we had the tour guide from hell - Moray. Moray was extremely rude, crude, unapproachable, obnoxious, ignorant and insensitive. He drove at excessive and dangerous speeds along the narrow roads, becoming extremely impatient with other drivers, cursing them in no uncertain terms and constantly tailgating. Not even the rain slowed him down. If a passenger asked a question that he had already answered he would call them stupid and tell them that they should have listened the first time. He had zero tolerance for anyone who was not back on board at the designated time and let them know he was annoyed. A further example of his poor behaviour is when a passenger asked the source of electricity on Islay. He was driving and initially seemed to ignore the question (this was not unusual) and then threw his hands up in the air and said that it fell out of the sky. There were many more examples of his unprofessional behaviour but I am sure you get the picture."Show moreTrip date: August 2019
