Itinerary
- Day 1
Luang Prabang
You'll arrive in Luang Prabang and get settled at your hotel. Once you've dropped your bags, head to the National Museum housed in the former Royal Palace to get some context on the region's history. From there, make your way to Wat Mai temple, which sits right in the heart of the city. Before dinner, climb up Mount Phousi, the small hill overlooking town, and stick around for sunset when you can see the Mekong River turn golden. Later in the evening, wander through the Night Market where local artisans sell handmade textiles and other crafts. It's a good way to end your first day and maybe pick up a few souvenirs.

- Day 2
Luang Prabang
This morning starts with guided tours of Wat Sene and Wat Xieng Thong, where you'll see the intricate tree of life mosaic that the temple's known for. After that, you'll head upriver on the Mekong for a cruise with stops at Pak Ou Caves, where there are thousands of Buddha images tucked into the cave walls. You'll also visit Ban Muangkeo village to get a sense of local life along the river. Once you're back, travel about 30km inland to Kuang Si Falls, stopping at a couple ethnic minority villages on the way. There you can swim in the turquoise pools or walk the forest trails if you prefer. The falls are multi-tiered and beautiful, so bring your camera.

Luang Prabang
After breakfast, spend some time at Phosi Market checking out local produce, hill-tribe textiles, and handicrafts. It's where residents actually shop, so it's less touristy than the night market. Later, you'll head to the airport for your departure flight.
