Itinerary
- Day 1
Luang Prabang
You'll land at Luang Prabang International Airport and get picked up for a private transfer to your hotel. Check-in happens between 1:30 PM and 2:00 PM, so you'll have the rest of the afternoon to settle in. After dropping your bags, spend some time walking around the city to get oriented. The area is known for its well-preserved architecture, and you'll see the Royal Palace and Wat Xieng Thong temple scattered throughout. Take it easy this first day and wander the streets at your own pace to get a feel for things.

Luang Prabang
Your pickup comes between 8:00 AM and 8:30 AM for a full day out to Kuang Si Waterfall. Once there, you'll spend about 2 hours checking out the three-tiered cascades and swimming in the turquoise pools. From there, stop by the bear rescue center, then head to Ban Na Uan, a Hmong village, where you can see how they do traditional embroidery. After lunch, you'll board a traditional long-tail boat and head upstream on the Mekong River to Pak Ou Caves. Inside, there are hundreds of old Buddha images people have left there over centuries. On the way back, the tour stops at Ban Xanghai village to watch locals make Lao Lao rice whiskey. You'll return between 5:30 PM and 6:00 PM.

Luang Prabang
Start your day at Vat Xiengthong, probably the most photographed temple in the city. It sits on a peninsula where the Mekong and Khan rivers meet, which gives it a special location. Next, head to the former Royal Palace, which operates now as the National Museum where you can learn about the region's history. Stop by Wat Mai to see its golden bas-relief carved into the facade. Later in the day, climb up Phousi Hill for 360-degree views across the city. From the top, you'll see temples, the rivers, and mountains in the distance. After that, head back down to the city center or return to your hotel.
