- CRCatherine· May 23rd, 2025It was a great trip! Only a few things beforehand would have been helpful. i.e., some days were really aggressive and tiring, then to have to get up early and get out of the hotel at 7:45am was not fun.Show moreTrip date: May 2025

- BNBrenda· October 27th, 2024Overall, the tour was great. We visited a lot of places and did several activities. I feel like I really saw a lot of Spain and Portugal, and not just a few highlights. We had two separate guides. Both knew their history and job, but had very different styles. It would have been better to have one for the entire trip. Some felt rushed, but I like to see as much as possible and didn't mind the pace.Show moreTrip date: October 2024
- DPDonna· August 18th, 2024We saw many fantastic cities. More stops at beach locations would have been nice since it was very hot. Our guide, Gustavo, was very professional, caring and prepared to help with any problems. - Lance· May 28th, 2024Very rigorous schedule, but we saw and did a lot. Hotels were extremely hit or miss. Really need to consider quality control. I wasn’t expecting the Ritz, but hot water is a must. Spending the night an hour outside of the city/town we’re scheduled to visit is also pretty unacceptable. Food was also hit or miss, but that wasn’t as important as the accommodations. Just please be attentive, especially with such a busy schedule. Everyone needed their rest and sometimes the hotels didn’t allow for much of that.Show moreExpat Explore Travel commented on this reviewThank you for sharing your experience with us. - Expat Explore TravelOperator•Written May 2025
At this stage, the starting point of your tour is the following Hotel in Madrid. Hotel Zentral Castellana Norte. Asked on May 1st, 2025wanted to know about private or group tours seeing Barcelona, Madrid, Seville, Toledo and Segovia with 5 star hotels and less traveling
- Expat Explore TravelOperator•Written May 2025
We don't offer custom or private tour arrangements. Our tours are pre-set group itineraries with fixed dates, routes, and inclusions. While we have a Spain tour including Barcelona, Madrid, and Seville, it includes other destinations and follows a set pace with 3- to 4-star hotel accommodations.

Asked on April 16th, 2025Will we know what hotels we will be staying in (throughout the tour) before we get to the meeting point on 4-May?
- Expat Explore TravelOperator•Written April 2025
To answer your question, yes, you will be receiving the list of hotels 7 - 14 days prior to the start of the tour. 7 - 14 days before departure, our customer service team will send you a tour leader announcement with the following information: Name and contact number of the Tour leader, Emergency contact number, Confirmed list of Hotels, Confirmed itinerary, Link to the Facebook group, which includes the rest of the tour Group as well as the Tour Leader, Confirmed Meeting point on day 1.

Asked on February 20th, 2025Where do I find definition of 'adequate' travel Insurance?
- Expat Explore TravelOperator•Written February 2025
Travel Insurance When you sign up for an Expat Explore tour, you are required to secure adequate travel insurance cover for the duration of your trip. If you cannot provide the Expat Explore team with a proof of adequate travel insurance prior to the start of your tour, you will not be permitted to embark on day one. Travel insurance should be as much a part of your travel preparation as packing your camera, sunglasses and passport! Incidents can happen from flight and baggage delays to injuries and sickness. Travel insurance gives you (and us) peace of mind, and, for this reason we make it compulsory for all Expat Explore passengers.

Asked on February 2nd, 2025How rigorous is this trip?
- Expat Explore TravelOperator•Written February 2025
We believe the best way to get to the heart and soul of a city is on foot, surrounded by the people and the culture. For this reason, we do walking tours through most of the cities we visit. Many of the cities you visit are vast and old, often with steps and cobblestones. Our walking tours can last up to 3 hours with plenty of opportunities to take photographs and soak up the history of these fascinating places, but you do require a certain level of fitness to enjoy your tour to its fullest.

Asked on January 6th, 2025Interested in travelling after 18th Sept, 2025. Dates please?
- Expat Explore TravelOperator•Written January 2025
The only available dates for the Spain & Portugal Explorer tour are from September 7, 2025, to September 21, 2025 with 9 seats still available, as all other departures from September to December are fully booked.

Crystal
Asked on January 2nd, 2025What is the availablity of the tour departing Madrid for 15 days on 7/9/2025 please for 2 adults and can you please provide a cost for insurance to cover the tour for us please. What is the hotel we meet up so we can look at booking the day before the tour starts as we will be coming from New Zealand
- Expat Explore TravelOperator•Written January 2025
The September 7, 2025 departure of our Spain & Portugal Explorer Tour still has 9 available seats left. For Insurance, Tour Radar provides a quote for the Insurance that they offer upon checkout. At this stage, your departure is too far in advance for us to give you a confirmed starting hotel. Due to the fact that our hotels are subject to change, we do not provide inaccurate information beforehand to minimize any confusion that may be caused. We therefore suggest reaching out roughly 90 days prior for this information.

There are 7 seats still available for the Spain & Portugal Explorer tour departing 20 April 2025. We are currently unable to share any hotel information, but updates will be provided as soon as our procurement team secures the necessary details.

Traveler•Written December 2024Can you send me the hotel list from the last tour then? How many people have already booked this one?
- Expat Explore TravelOperator•Written December 2024
For this main tour, 15 Pax have already booked with 7 availability left but together with the legs, the capacity is 48 pax.

Traveler•Written December 2024Are the 7 dinners in our hotels? For the return trip home after the tour ends at 2:30pm, what time do you recommend for the flight home?
- Expat Explore TravelOperator•Written December 2024
The included Dinners will vary, some will be at restaurants within the city and some at the Hotel. All Included Breakfasts are at the Hotels used in the tour. At the end of the tour, the drop off will be at the Madrid Atocha Station and then the Starting Hotel. I would advise to maybe schedule a flight after 4PM since most airlines require customers to be checked-in at least 2 Hours before their flights.
