Itinerary
- Day 1
Oaxaca
You'll arrive in Oaxaca and meet up with your group this evening. After settling in, head to a mezcalería rooftop where you can try some mezcal and chat with the other travelers. From there, you'll head to Txalaparta to dance for the rest of the night. It's a solid way to start things off during the Day of the Dead festival.

Oaxaca
Walk through a local market to learn about Oaxacan traditions and see the ceremonial objects people use during Day of the Dead celebrations. You'll get a real sense of what this time of year means to the community here.

Oaxaca
This is the main event. You'll join the Day of the Dead parade celebrations and spend time in the zócalo, or main square, of Oaxaca. The atmosphere is really lively with the festivities happening all around you.

Oaxaca
You've got free time to do what you want. Keep celebrating in the zócalo if that's your thing, or take a trip to nearby artisan towns. Monte Albán's ruins are also nearby if you want to check out the pre-Columbian site instead.

Oaxaca to Puerto Escondido
Travel by private vehicle to Puerto Escondido, a tropical beach town. Once you arrive, you'll have free time to kick back on the beach or try optional water activities if you're interested.

Puerto Escondido
Spend your day surfing if you haven't caught waves yet, or just relax on the beach. There's also an option to go out with the group for one last night if you want to hang out together before things wrap up.

Depart from Puerto Escondido whenever works for you. There are several transportation options available for getting to your next destination.
