  What would have been a great tour of Northern Italy was unfortunately not what was promised on the tour. The tour guide was missing for the first morning of our tour and we were left with a bus driver who had minimal English speaking skills but was very courteous when he picked us up from our hotel and dropped us off at our first scheduled stop. The tour guide then rocked up without any explanation or apology for her delay. We then spent the next three hours travelling outside of our schedule to change over bus drivers in another town. What a waste of an afternoon! For the next 5 days we felt like we were just being transported from one town to another - the tour guide would just give us a very brief run down on the bus and then we were left to wander and explore the towns on our own - never providing any commentary on where we travelling and what we were seeing. The itinerary stated that we would visit for example, two places for the day - however, our tour guide would give us the option of which one we wanted to visit - not visiting both - as there "wasn't enough time" - this was very disappointing. A lunch which was specified on our itinerary was not offered and when questioned was advised that this was incorrectly printed on the itinerary. On the last day, once again, what was included on the itinerary was not visited - we had to make a choice of which one we would attend because "we didn't have time". Once again, very disappointing. The final day where we to spend a few hours wandering around Lake Garda turned out to be a rushed quick boat drive to watch the tour guide drive a boat, no time for lunch, and then back on the bus to be dropped off at our hotel three hours earlier than scheduled only to sit around waiting for no reason for the next part of our travel. This was extremely unacceptable. In terms of value for money, the places we visited we great, the bus driver was great, but the tour guide was very poor - in fact, the travel group all agreed that it pointless for her to even be around - she was not a tour guide at all. Unfortunately, this was a very poor tour - and there was minimal value for money - simply a means of transportation from one town to another.
