Bergen
When you arrive in Bergen, check into your hotel and the rest of the day is open. You can wander through the city centre, pop into local shops, or head down to the harbour for fresh seafood at one of the waterfront restaurants. It's a good chance to get your bearings and see what draws you in the city.

Bergen
Meet your guide at 10 AM for a walking tour covering Bergen's UNESCO sites. You'll walk through Bryggen Wharf with its colourful wooden buildings, stop at the Church of Mary, see Hakon's Fortress, and end at the Fish Market. After lunch, pick between a food tour with fish market tastings and funicular rides, or a fjord cruise to Mostraumen. Your evening is free after that.

Bergen to Balestrand
Leave Bergen at 8 AM for a cruise through Sognefjord heading to Balestrand. Along the way you'll pass steep mountains, waterfalls, and small villages, arriving around midday. It's a short walk from the pier to your hotel. Spend the afternoon however you'd like around the village. Dinner happens at your hotel this evening.

Balestrand
Today in Balestrand is yours to plan. If you want structure, there's an optional half day trip to Fjaerland running June 1 to September 15. You'd boat through Fjaerlandsfjord to the Norwegian Glacier Museum, watch a glacier film, see exhibits, and visit the Supphellebreen and Boyabreen glaciers before returning by boat. Either way, dinner is at your hotel.

Balestrand to Flam to Oslo
Sail from Balestrand to Flam through the Aurlandsfjord with dramatic cliffs and fjordside villages around you. After time to explore Flam, you'll board the Flamsbana railway, one of the steepest train lines in the world. The route drops through twenty tunnels past waterfalls and mountains until Myrdal, then you switch trains toward Oslo. You'll arrive late and head straight to your hotel.

Meet your guide this morning for a 3 hour tour of Oslo. You'll see Frogner Park, the Royal Palace, City Hall, and Akershus fortress. The rest of the day is yours to do what you want. A 24 hour Oslo pass works well if you want to visit museums and get free transport to the Bygdog Peninsula.
