Anchorage to Talkeetna
Begin in Anchorage with a city tour that includes the Alaska Native Heritage Center, where you'll participate in an Agutak ice cream making demonstration. From there, travel through Matanuska Valley to a local farm to see how Alaska grows those famous giant vegetables. Later you'll head to Talkeetna, located at the base of Mount Denali, with your evening free to relax.

Talkeetna
Start early with a jet boat tour up the Chulitna River, stopping at a trapper's cabin to learn about hunting and trapping in Interior Alaska. After that, the rest of your day is open. You can wander around Talkeetna or pick from optional activities available in the area.

Talkeetna to Denali National Park
Take it easy this morning, then board the Alaska Railroad for the scenic train ride to Denali National Park in a glass-domed rail car so you can see the landscape from all angles. Along the way, a local climber joins you to discuss what it takes to climb Mount Denali. For dinner, choose between checking out a local brewery or dining at the lodge's rustic restaurant.

Denali National Park
Spend your day exploring Denali National Park's 6 million acres of tundra, boreal forest, and ice-capped mountains. You can take a leisurely walk through the meadows, go for a more challenging hike, or participate in other optional activities. Back at your lodge by evening, you'll have panoramic views and hopefully clear skies for stargazing.

Landmarks Denali National Park and Preserve - Day 6
Denali National Park to Girdwood
Head down George Parks Highway to Big Lake to visit Martin Buser, a four-time Iditarod winner, at his home. You'll meet 30 to 60 sled dogs and hear about the 1,049-mile race from his 35 years of racing experience. Later, travel along Seward Highway with dramatic coastal and mountain views before arriving in Girdwood, where a celebration dinner caps off the day.

Girdwood to Prince William Sound Cruise Departure
Spend your morning at Alyeska resort, then head to Whittier to board the 26 Glacier Cruise for a 100-mile boat tour through Prince William Sound and College Fjord with close-up views of glaciers. Later you'll transfer to either MS Nieuw Amsterdam or MS Noordam for dinner and the evening departure of your cruise.

Glacier Bay National Park
The ship cruises through Glacier Bay National Park, where you'll see massive glaciers, towering peaks, and icy rivers. This is a chance to see Alaska's raw wilderness, the kind of landscape that existed before people first arrived in the region.

Skagway
Explore Skagway, which served as the gateway to the Klondike gold fields back in the day. Today it's become a lively community with local galleries, curio shops, and seafood restaurants. The town's Gold Rush history is on display throughout, earning it the nickname 'Garden City of Alaska.'

Juneau

Inside Passage
