Itinerary
- Day 1
Bucharest to Vulcan
Your Exodus leader will meet you at Bucharest airport and drive you to Vulcan, a small town in Brasov Country within Transylvania. The transfer takes about three hours, with a stop along the way so you can get out and stretch your legs.
- Day 2
Vulcan to Bucium
After breakfast, you'll prepare your bike for your first ride in the region. The day starts with a climb through remote pine-covered hills, giving you views of the snow-topped Bucegi Mountains as you tackle a 4.5mi (7km) dirt road through rural countryside. You'll stop at the oldest flour mill in Fagaras county, which sits by a river that powers it. Weather permitting, there's an option to detour to a nearby cave that people used as a place of worship over two centuries ago.

- Day 3
Bucium to Cartisoara or Carta
You'll cycle toward the village of Lisa with the Fagaras Mountains in view. Along the way, you'll visit a wool mill to see how woollen blankets and clothes are made using traditional methods, including a 100-year-old machine that's still working. From there, you'll ride to Cartisoara and explore the Cistercian monastery in Carta, which dates back to around 1205. If time allows, there's a possible stop at Sambata Monastery as well.

- Day 4
Cartisoara or Carta to Biertan
The day begins by crossing the river Olt, then you'll follow quiet country roads toward Biertan, passing the fortified church of Richis. In Biertan, you'll tour the UNESCO-listed fortified church that sits on a hill overlooking vineyards. Built from 1486 by the German-Transylvanian Saxon community, this late-Gothic structure has concentric ringed walls, towers, Renaissance pieces, bastions, and three rows of defensive walls.

- Day 5
Biertan to Sighisoara
You'll ride through remote Transylvanian countryside and villages, following the river Tarnava Mare past hop fields as you head toward Sighisoara. This UNESCO-recognized medieval citadel is one of the few fully inhabited ones left in Europe. The afternoon is free, so you can wander the preserved streets and check out historic sites, including the birthplace of Vlad Dracul, father of Vlad the Impaler.

- Day 6
Sighisoara to Cobor
Your route follows quiet country roads through Transylvanian hills to Apold and Bradeni village, where you'll stop to see a fascinating old church. You'll then cycle through small farming towns and pastures to reach Cobor, a village with a converted farm guesthouse that features an organic vegetable garden and animal protection projects. The farm uses old seed varieties that produce higher quality crops.

- Day 7
Cobor to Viscri
After breakfast, you'll leave Cobor with a short forest climb before cycling through several small towns to reach Viscri. This pretty old town has a well-known fortified church that was restored in 1991 with help from local brickmakers and blacksmiths, and it's considered one of the best examples of a fortified church in the world. You'll have plenty of time to explore, including a tour by horse-drawn cart.

- Day 8
Viscri to Bucharest
After breakfast, you'll take a long private transfer to Bucharest, with a stop in the medieval town of Brasov along the way. There you'll climb the towers of the old fort for views over the town center and the 14th-century Black Church, then walk on cobbled pedestrian roads. You may also visit Peles Castle, a forest-wrapped former royal residence, for a short walk through the gardens before arriving in Bucharest.

Bucharest
After breakfast, most of the day is yours to explore Bucharest. You can wander the old streets, do some last-minute shopping, or visit museums and palaces. You can either head home or contact your sales representative to arrange an extension if you'd like to stay longer.
