Itinerary

  1. Day 1

    Garden Route to Tsitsikamma

    You'll meet your group and head westward along the Garden Route, following the Indian Ocean coastline with mountain ranges and forests on either side. The route takes you through some beautiful coastal territory before settling in for your first night in Tsitsikamma.

  2. Day 2

    Knysna

    After breakfast, you'll check out Tsitsikamma National Park and Storms River Mouth. Stop by the Mungo textile mill in Plettenberg Bay to see how they work fine textiles on both antique and modern looms. From there, head to Knysna, a nice town built along a lagoon. Later in the evening, take a sunset cruise out to the Knysna Heads and then have dinner at Drydock Restaurant.

  3. Day 3

    Oudtshoorn

    You'll start with breakfast and then visit the Outeniqua Transport Museum in George to look at the railway history of the Garden Route, including old vehicles and locomotives. Travel through the Outeniqua Pass to reach Oudtshoorn, known as the ostrich capital. Along the way, stop at Dolphin Point viewpoint in Wilderness for views. Once in Oudtshoorn, tour an ostrich farm where you'll have hands-on time and a light lunch with local specialities like ostrich steak. Afterward, explore the Cango Caves, which are quite impressive. You'll arrive at your hotel in the late afternoon.

    Hermanus

    Following breakfast, there's an optional early morning meerkat safari available if weather allows and you want to go (it's at your own cost). You'll see wild habituated meerkats coming out of their burrows. Then travel through the Little Karoo to Barrydale where you can visit a local farm school and spend time with the children and teachers. Continue through the Tradouw Pass to Swellendam, then on to Hermanus, which is known for whale watching from the land and the town sits right in the heart of the whale route.

    After a relaxed breakfast, you'll leave Hermanus and take the coastal road toward Somerset West, then continue to Stellenbosch in the Cape Winelands. You'll have free time to walk around town, check out the oak-shaded streets, grab coffee at a cafe, browse the boutiques, and visit art galleries. Later, head to Cape Town where the tour wraps up.

    All fabulous. The tour ran very efficiently and smoothly. The driver/ guide was very approachable, and knowledgable and had good humour. The hotels were all different styles and were all very comfortable and in excellent locations. They exceeded my expectations.

The final payment will be automatically charged to your credit card on the designated due date. The final payment of the remaining balance is required at least 60 days prior to the departure date of your tour. TourRadar never charges you a booking fee and will charge you in the stated currency.
