- Day 1
Budapest
You'll arrive in Budapest anytime that works for you. There's nothing scheduled until the evening welcome meeting, so you can settle into your accommodation and get oriented. This is when you'll meet your CEO and the rest of the group before dinner.

Budapest to Balla Géza Winery
After checking out, spend the morning wandering Budapest on your own to get a feel for the city. Later, head to a G Adventures-supported social enterprise café for drinks and optional food. From there, you'll travel to Balla Géza Winery where a wine tasting and traditional Romanian dinner are waiting. The night is spent at the winery's guesthouse.

Balla Géza Winery to Sighișoara
Start with breakfast at the winery before traveling to Sighișoara, a medieval town with cobblestone streets and walled citadel. You have the day to walk around at your own pace, checking out the historic architecture, local cafés, restaurants, and bars scattered throughout. It's the kind of place where you can wander and discover things naturally.

Sighișoara to Brașov
A local guide leads you through Sighișoara and the surrounding countryside for the first half of the day, showing you traditional villages and medieval fortified churches along the way. The rolling landscape here is really nice. By early evening, you'll transfer to Brașov, which is known as one of Romania's best-preserved medieval cities.

Brașov
You'll visit Bran Castle, which sits on a rock outcrop with views across the valley. The 14th century structure has a complicated history with lots of folklore attached to it. Spending time there gives you a sense of the countryside and the castle's role in the region's past.

Brașov to Bucharest
Train travel takes you to Bucharest. Once there, an orientation walk helps you get your bearings in Romania's capital. After that, you're free to check out the Soviet-influenced architecture, visit the cathedral, or try some of the international food scene. How you spend the rest of the day is up to you.

Bucharest to Veliko Tarnovo
The morning is yours to explore more of Bucharest if you want. Later, you'll cross into Bulgaria and head to Veliko Tarnovo, one of the oldest cities around. Wander the medieval streets, pop into museums, or try Bulgarian cuisine for the first time. It's a good introduction to a different country.

Veliko Tarnovo
You have the morning in Veliko Tarnovo to see what you missed or revisit places you liked. In the afternoon, a trip to Arbanasi, a hilltop village nearby, gives you views down over Veliko Tarnovo and the surrounding area. It's a nice perspective on where you've been spending time.

Veliko Tarnovo to Sofia
You'll travel to Sofia and start with an orientation walk to understand Bulgaria's capital. After that, wander down the pedestrian street or check out the Ladies' Market. Sofia mixes western grandeur with Soviet-era buildings, and there's a gold-domed church worth seeing plus restaurants serving everything from Bulgarian to international food.
