Itinerary
- Day 1
Rio de Janeiro
Your Tour Director meets you at 3:30 pm for a scenic drive along Ipanema and Copacabana beaches. Then you'll take the cable car up Sugarloaf Mountain to catch views of the city from the summit. Later, there's a cocktail party where you'll have traditional caipirinhas and toast the start of your trip while looking out over Guanabara Bay and the Atlantic.

Rio de Janeiro
This morning starts with a cog railway ride to Corcovado Mountain's summit to see the Christ the Redeemer statue and take in 360-degree views of Rio. You'll then explore downtown, checking out modern architecture and colonial buildings, the Sambodromo, and the Cathedral. After lunch the afternoon is yours to wander around the city. By evening you'll head to a churrascaria for barbecued meats and Brazilian traditions.

Rio de Janeiro
The day is completely yours. You can relax on one of Rio's famous beaches, do some shopping, or try fine dining around the city. If you want something different, there's an optional trip to Petropolis available for an extra cost, but it's totally up to you how you spend this time.

- Day 4
Rio de Janeiro to Iguassu Falls
You'll fly from Rio to Iguassu Falls, one of the natural wonders worth seeing. With your local guide, you'll walk through Brazil's Iguassu National Park and see the 2-mile-wide waterfalls, with some cataracts dropping 250 feet high. The rainforest area is protected, so you might spot toucans, giant otters, anteaters, tapir, jaguars, and other wildlife while you're there.

Iguassu Falls
You'll cross into Argentina by motorcoach to see Iguassu from the other side. Walk out on catwalks over the Devil's Throat where 14 waterfalls drop more than 300 feet. Then you'll explore the lower trails through the rainforest to see smaller cataracts up close. After heading back to your hotel, the rest of the day is free for you to do what you want.

Iguassu Falls to Buenos Aires
After crossing the Brazilian border by motorcoach, you'll head to Cataratas del Iguazu International Airport and fly to Buenos Aires. Once you arrive, you'll start getting to know the city, walking along wide boulevards and checking out outdoor cafes with their European feel and charm.

Buenos Aires
You'll explore Buenos Aires starting in La Boca, the busy historic port area. From there you'll walk through San Telmo with its late-colonial buildings and artist community. Later you'll see Plaza de Mayo, La Casa Rosada, and the Metropolitan Cathedral, then pass by Teatro Colon opera house and Recoleta Cemetery. During a hands-on cooking class you'll learn to make traditional empanadas. The afternoon is yours to relax, then you'll have a tango lesson at a local milonga followed by a farewell dinner and professional tango show.

You'll head out to the pampas to visit a working estancia where you'll get a traditional welcome with empanadas and local drinks. A carriage ride takes you through the grasslands to learn about gaucho life. Lunch is an authentic Argentine feast with beef, salad, and desserts, plus live gaucho music and dancing. You'll also watch an equestrian demonstration before heading back to the city.

You'll fly over the Andes to Santiago, Chile's capital. After meeting your Globus representative at the airport, you'll settle in for the night. Your Tour Director doesn't travel with you to Santiago, so you'll have the evening to yourself.

Santiago
Your local guide will trace Santiago's history from the 16th century forward. You'll start at La Moneda, the government palace, then visit Plaza de Armas with its 18th-century cathedral featuring Baroque-style architecture, frescoes, chandeliers, and gilded columns. The rest of the afternoon and evening are free for you to explore on your own.

Santiago to Easter Island
You'll fly from Santiago to Easter Island, located 2,200 miles off the Chilean coast. The island is known as one of the world's largest open-air museums with over 400 moai, ruins, and temples. There's still a lot of mystery about the ancient civilization that created these massive volcanic rock sculptures.

Easter Island
Your private tour covers the island's archaeological sites. You'll see Ahu Vaihu where eight large moai are in ruins, then Ahu Akahanga, believed to be the legendary burial site of the first king. Next comes Rano Raraku quarry with 394 statues at different stages of carving, which gives you a snapshot of how moai were made before production stopped. You'll visit Ahu Tongariki with 15 restored moai and Ahu Te Pito Kura with the largest transported moai, finishing at Anakena beach where the first king is said to have landed.

Easter Island
Your private tour visits Rano Kau Volcano, which has a caldera and one of the island's freshwater lakes. You'll explore the ceremonial village of Orongo with restored houses and ancient ahu remains, then check out Ana Kai Tagata, an ancient cave with wall paintings. In the afternoon you'll see Ahu Akivi's seven restored moai in the island's center, thought to represent King Hotu Matu'a's scouts. The tour ends at Puna Pau quarry where red Pukaos (topknots) for the moai were crafted.
