The trip didnt feel smooth or totally organised. I enjoyed it mainly because of the people I met on the trip rather than the trip structure itself.

Everything went smoothly, but the English of the trip leader and some of the local guides could have been better.

It would have been great to spend longer on some of the islands and also visit other islands that were not included in the tour and did not have enough free days to visit.

We did great activities that was great. In case of the tourguide it was not really a tourguide, but more like a nanny. I got the feeling that he was just there to walk with us to the activities. Most of the time there was a new guide for every activity so what is the role of the tourguide? I really loved the combination of the activities and the free time we had at every spot and I was suprised about the luxury of the hostels. The hostels were more like hotels in case of the luxury. I would be great if there were more meals included (especially lunch sometime)

The Galapagos are amazing! Absolutely go, but I would not take a land-based guided tour (like this one) in the future. After visiting, I believe it would be easier and more effective to book your own accommodations, must-do day tours in advance and the remaining tours upon arrival (especially when it's not in high season). The cost mainly covers hotel and island ferries as there was a lot of free time where you mostly have to pay for extra activities (anything water-based was not included). Most of the people I met on the islands went independently.

The intinerary was good but had very few included activities. The tour guide (Juan) always seemed to be in a hurry going from place to place so it felt slightly rushed. He didn't seem to like being asked questions either even though he often asked "any questions?". However he seemed like a genuine person and was quite helpful in organizing our transport back to the airport.

There is the opportunity on the final day to forgo your flight back to Quito to stay on for Scuba Diving. We can offer this activity on the final day of the tour but it will require an extra night on the islands.

I was curious about the reason that travellers over 29 years old were not welcome to join.

    • Intrepid TravelOperatorWritten March 2023

18 to 29-year-old itineraries are designed for travellers within this age range. Some of our under-30 travellers prefer to get around with people their age. If that's you, you're in the right place! We have similar versions of the 18 to 29-year-old trips available for all travelers 15+. We also have family tours to accommodate travelers with young children under 15.

What time does the tour begin on the 12th and time does it end on the 19th? This is so I can calculate when to book flights
