- SKSusanne· June 23rd, 2023The 8 day tour i booked (on short notice) was really great. it included many highlights regarding nature and action. the accommodations were great, tours as described, no „bad surprises“. all transfers were in time and drivers were goid obes. guides great. english good. food good. communication good. couldn’t rate any better! maybe not the cheapest travel but you pay for not even spending a minute in research or planning. it’s worth it.Show moreTrip date: June 2023
- HZHadi· January 10th, 2020Great way to see most of Costa Ricas highlights in a short space of time. Self-guided, so you just have to make sure you are ready at your hotel for pickup on the transfer days. Very well organised transport, always on time and glitch free. In Monteverde the package included the most gorgeous horseback riding scenery I have ever witnessed, and the ziplining is a must do in that region. We used the first free day to also visit the Monteverde national reserve and hike the rainforest. In la fortuna, your visit is short, but included is an all day pass to the Baldi hot spring resort, which again is an extremely high quality experience. On to Tortugero, and you will have 2 guided boat toars and 2-3 walking tours of the rainforest. Lots of travelling in a short space of time, but I can't envisage any other way of seeing so much in such a short span of time, with no problems along the way.Show moreBamba Travel commented on this reviewThank you very much for your valuable feedback! - Yvonne· July 11th, 2019We had an amazing time in Costa Rica discovering two very different national parks (Monteverde - one out of 4 cloud forests in the world & Tortuguero - a real jungle experience). We loved the biodiversity in Tortuguero (we saw so many howler monkeys, spider monkeys, all different types of birds, a cayman, sea turtles laying their eggs, and even a dolphin). Our guides were fantastic. Especially Kevin in Tortuguero was very knowledgeable and entertaining. The tour had a good mix of freetime and guided tours. Moving from A to B worked perfectly fine except for the airport pick-up. The trip info is partially outdated. For example, there is no Grayline office at the airport anymore. Hopefully, Bamba is going to fix that. There are daily departures which means that you might end up on your own. In our case we met some other travelers on the shared shuttle buses and on the tours in Tortuguero but most of the time we were on our own. All in all, we enjoyed the trip a lot just that we would go for a better accommodation level.Show moreBamba Travel commented on this reviewHello Yvonne, Thank you very much for your valuable feedback! - DSDaniel· August 20th, 2018Tour was awesome. We saw far more than we would have ourselves. Be prepared for long bus journeys and late collections/ delays. - Stella· December 8th, 2017Experience was good with Bamba. There were hiccups in connections but they have a whatsapp number and are quick to resolve it. The hostels and the transfers are nice and so are the tours. I liked the 8D7N trip because I got to see a lot of the beautiful Costa Rica. Nice pace tooShow moreBamba Travel commented on this reviewHi Stella! Thanks for your kind words! We really appreciate your feedback. - SFSamir· January 7th, 2017Overall the trip went well. We were a family of 4 traveling together. We really didn't like the hostel in San Jose. It was a great place for young single travelers but in no way a place for a family like us. The hostel in Monteverde was a little bit better but old as well. The highlight was the lodge in Tortugero. The ecolodge was nice and the resort was clean and enchanted. The hotel in Fortuna was the most modern with AC in the room. Transportation was adequate and we were always picked up at the time indicated on the itinerary. Only 2 vans out of the whole trip was equipped with Wifi. We had upgraded from a hostel accommodation to a 3 star but I'm not sure 2 of the hostels qualified for the upgrade. I'd recommend this itinerary for people that haven't been to Costa Rica before. Traveling from one town to the next can be challenging as the roads don't have good signage and the poor conditions of the roads make driving quite challenging in my opinion. The planned activities are fun and keep you busy the whole time.Show moreBamba Travel commented on this reviewHello Samir, Thank you for taking the time to review your experience! - Jenny· August 8th, 2016The actual tour plan was great. I felt I got a good sample of Costa Rica. Unfortunately I never saw the word "Hostel" anywhere in the description until after I'd paid and then when I got my actual itinerary (a week before departure) was the point I realised that I would be staying in hostels for the most part. They really need to make that clear in the website description. I usually travel under my own steam and thought that for the last week in Costa Rica I would have a stress free week, however as one of the hostels got things horribly wrong (twice) the trip was tainted. Evergreen Lodge at Tortuguero was fantastic and I was impressed to find out meals were included (which I did not expect for that part) however I have quite severe insomnia so the hostels partying until wee hours flat out did not suit me and I WOULD NOT have booked this had I known they were hostels. The transportation was above my expectations and on time every time and the included day trips were fantastic. Overall I feel that a few bad hostel experiences spoilt the trip but the ability to not have to organise my own transportation was fantastic. Mention its hostels and give people an option to pay more for budget hotels and you would have got 5 stars.Show moreBamba Travel commented on this reviewHi Jenny, Thanks for your feedback and for taking the time to post a review! Asked on June 1st, 2016Is there an opportunity to do the hanging bridges walk in Arenal?
- Bamba TravelOperator•Written June 2016
Due to scheduling motives, the only way we can fit in the - Hanging bridges walk- in Arenal is by adding a full day tour, which would mean staying an extra night in "La Fortuna".
