- WDWan· May 30th, 2023This was our third time River Cruising with Viking. Compare to second time, Nearly all of the tour guides were amazing, very knowledgeable of the areas we were traveling. That make me so pleased because Viking had listened the customer’s review to improve themselves like the food no more stale and the quality of the tour guides are better than ast time. However, and things got off to a rocky start with an estate room that smelled like sewer gas and the crew not doing anything to remedy the problem. The shore excursions seemed stretched at times like they had no idea how to fill the time. And then when they had a good excursion they rushed the groups and failed to factor in shopping or just walking around time. You need to read the fine print on every shore excursion with the Capitals of Eastern Europe!! The descriptions can be really tricky and many quests were not satisfied with the performance of Viking. I found that it was about 50/50 hit or miss on the excursions. The trip was very enlightening and culturally diverse but it is a one and done trip.Show moreTrip date: April 2021

To be honest that question is really hard to answer. You will see a lot from both sides of the cruise ship and will be surrounded by history and towns no matter the side. Most of your time as well is spent outside of your cabin so you can always go up to the Sun Deck if there is something you really want to see that is on the opposite side of your stateroom.
