Itinerary
- Day 1
Marrakech to Zagora
You'll leave Marrakech early in the morning and head into the High Atlas mountains, passing through the Tizi-n-Tichka pass at 7,415 feet. Along the way, you'll stop in several Berber villages to get a sense of how people live in these mountain communities. From there, it's on to the UNESCO Ksar of Ait Benhaddou, an old fortified settlement with clay buildings that's worth walking around to photograph and explore. After leaving Ait Benhaddou, the drive continues through the Anti Atlas mountains and down into the Draa Valley, where the landscape shifts dramatically. You'll arrive in Zagora by evening, and that's when your camel trek begins. After getting settled and having dinner, you'll head out into the desert for an overnight camp under the stars.

Once you're back, the drive heads through the Draa Valley and passes through Agdz on the way to Ouarzazate.
