Everything about this trip was excellent. It was once in a lifetime. Our tour leader, Grazia, was truly such an amazing leader and friend. You could tell that she gives tours because she loves Italy and teaching people about her country, not just because it’s her job. She’s extremely nice, funny, down to earth, and very easy to get along with. She explained everything perfectly, and if she didn’t know something, she always researched on it to give you a detailed answer. If you go on this tour, which I 1000% recommend, definitely request to have Grazia as your tour leader. The sights we saw were really great, the restaurants we ate at were amazing. Grazia brought us to many authentic, “hole-in-the-wall” italian restaurants. They were local, not touristy places. The trip included A LOT of walking and most days were morning to night, but the stops for food and the free days were relaxing and definitely helped to give a good balance. The amount of walking doesn’t even matter because of the beautiful sights you’re seeing. I 100% recommend this company and Grazia.

Everything about this tour was wonderful . The itinerary was perfect, hotels and food were beautiful. But most importantly was our tour leader, Grazia . This trip wouldn’t have been what it was without her . Her knowledge and expertise made this trip one that will never be forgotten . She is sweet, funny, and was with us every step of the way to ensure we had an amazing experience . By the end of our tour, she was more than just our leader , she became our friend . My family and I would not have had it any other way . If you choose this tour (which we highly recommend), please ask for Grazia . You will not be disappointed !

starting from the 2026 departures, our Mamma Mia tour will be available both for travelers aged 18–39 and for adults of all ages, with separate departure dates. The tour price does not include international airfares. Accommodations offer different options — from shared lodging to private hotel rooms. Since you'll be traveling as a couple, we would recommend the private hotel room for two. All accommodations are equipped with air conditioning. Double rooms are often furnished with two single beds placed together rather than one large bed, as room sizes can be smaller compared to American or Australian standards.

Im looking for a 17 day trip to Italy covering Rome, naples, Positano/amalfi, Florence, Siena, Chianti, San giminano, Volterra, Val Dorcia Loop, Florence, Cinque Terra Villages, Venice, Burano, Murano, Siciliy, Dolomites, Lake Como, Milan

    • Italy on a Budget ToursOperatorWritten August 2025

We can design a custom itinerary based entirely on your preferences. With 17 full days, it's possible to include Rome, the Amalfi Coast, Florence, the Tuscan region, Cinque Terre, Venice with Murano & Burano, Milan & Lake Como. We usually suggest a partially guided itinerary, meaning you'll have a mix of guided tours and experiences combined with free time to explore at your own pace. As for Sicily, with the time frame and all the destinations you've listed, it may be challenging to include without making the trip too hectic. What's the age of the kid?

This specific tour package is strictly reserved for travelers aged 18 to 39, as we aim to maintain a certain energy, group dynamic, and travel style that suits that age range best. The vibe is very laid-back, adventurous, and social, something our younger travelers really appreciate. However, due to high demand, we've created the exact same itinerary in a budget-conscious, partially guided format that's perfect for all travelers who enjoy the convenience of pre-arranged logistics and local experiences, but also value their independence and free time.

Why does this tour stop at 41 years of age? I love this tour, but we're active women in our 70's. Can you suggest a very similar tour for our age?

This itinerary is primarily designed for travelers aged 18–41, as it typically includes hostel-style accommodations that are budget-friendly but may not offer the level of comfort some travelers prefer. That said, we're not strict with the age limit—guests over 41 are more than welcome, provided they are young at heart, have no mobility issues, and are happy to travel in a lively group with younger travelers. If you'd prefer a more comfortable and relaxed experience, we'd be happy to suggest an alternative: our The Best of Italy in 13 Days tour. It follows a very similar route but includes upgraded accommodations in centrally located hotels or charming B&Bs, along with a few extra experiences and destinations.

I am interested in this tour but I won't be able to get to Rome until June 10 afternoon due to travel contraints on my end. If I was to miss the first day and a half, would you reduce the rate I paid? Alternatively, are there other tours you suggest that cover similar places? I've already been to Rome and Venice 15 years ago. I'd rather see Rome again than Venice if that helps with suggesting alternate tours.

if you wish to join the tour from the 10th June it is possible. We can apply a € 150 reduction per person of the tour price. You will miss at the end only 1 night accommodation in Rome, 1 welcome dinner and the orientation walk with our tour leader the morning of day 2. Would this work for you? At the moment the departure is confirmed so feel free to book it.

I just graduated college and am trying to plan a last-minute family trip this summer. The itinerary for this trip looks absolutely incredible and highlights all of the places in Italy I would like to see. I see that the private room options only accommodate 2 people, and we have 3. Is there anyway to book one private room for 3 people? It is just me and my parents. I can sleep on the floor or a couch, I just don't think booking a separate room for just me is necessary nor do we want to do that. Is this an option?

When you reach the end of the booking it says meals are included. After reading the itinerary, it seems like the meals are not included. How many meals are actually included in the price? It seems like each time we have a meal it says "at your own pace" or "free time" although this trip is advertised as meals included.

    • Italy on a Budget ToursOperatorWritten May 2025

Yes, the three of you can absolutely select the private room option and be allocated together in the same room with private services. We'll make sure the accommodation fits your needs so you can stay comfortably with your parents. No need for an extra room! The meals included in the price are: Welcome dinner in Rome, Welcome drink with snacks in Florence, Wine and olive oil tasting in Tuscany. Any other meals mentioned during the trip, such as lunch or dinner during free time, are not included and give you the flexibility to explore local cuisine at your own pace & budget.
