The guides were welcoming, friendly, and happy to share their culture and stories - this is what makes it special. Thanks Grazia, Veronica and Elisa! - Samantha· March 10th, 2025I did a Europe trip in 2023, and this Tour was the highlight, have made life long friends and the tour operators were absolutely AMAZING. Overall tour guides were locals so they knew what they were talking about and what to recommend. Meghan our lovely tour guide an was absolutely amazing taking us around Cinque Terri, Amalfi, Positano Florence and Venice. This is an incredibly tour, well organised and lovely, definitely great for solo travellers as you can make friends and go out daily / in the evening and still feel safe. Definitely something i will never forget.Show moreTrip date: August 2023
- AHAnika· October 22nd, 2024Trip was well organised and everything was really easy to navigate even in a foreign country! The tour guides who were lovely and wonderful for showing us around and giving insider tips on places to eat/ things to do in our free time. The hostels organised were also lovely to stay in and convenient locations to get around, and Italy on a Budget was really easy to contact if we needed assistance with anything! Definitely would recommend :)Show moreTrip date: October 2024
- DDenise· September 15th, 2024Spent three nights in sorrento. Went to Amalfi coast, positano, capri, Pompeii. It was amazing! Beautiful destinations and enough time to explore. Our guide Giovanni was wonderful, patient, and super helpful. He gave us tips, recommendations, and helped us with buses, etc. The company was also very quick to respond and help me with directions on how to meet the group after my train was delayed and I needed to meet them separately. Definitely recommend!Show moreTrip date: September 2024

- AOAvery· June 12th, 2024My sister and I did the Mama Mia Tour throughout Italy May 27-June 8. Each one of our tour guides was amazing, we had Carlo and Max in Rome, Giovanni in Sorrento, and Nedas in Florence and Venice. All of them were so fun to tour with, always happy to take our picture and since the groups were smaller we could be a bit more customizable with our experience and what we wanted to see during walking tours of the city! The guides were probably one of my favorite parts of the trip because after spending so much time with them they began to feel like more of a friend than a tour guide which was awesome! I really enjoyed the welcome dinners as well to help break the ice with fellow travelers and get to know the guides better. They all were very funny and knowledgeable of the location we were at and happy to provide food/activity recommendations for our free time. The only critique I would give the company is we were often not meeting our guides at the accommodation, we were asked to meet them somewhere in the city whether that was a train station or a specific street in the city. Being in a city I had never been to before this was a little difficult at first, especially when the meeting point was far away. I wish they would put us in direct contact with who we are meeting so we can message them if we are lost or running late, and who we should be looking for. With that being said, we had a couple times where we arrived at the meeting point and nobody came or came much later once I called the company a few times, which I think could have been resolved if we were just given the contact of who we were meeting from the beginning or making a WhatsApp group chat of some sort for the group to send updates and communicate better. But after one incident of a meeting point mix up the company was very accommodating in helping us the rest of the trip and adding a gondola ride in Venice for us to make up for a hiccup in Rome. Overall I would recommend this trip to other fellow travelers! You see such amazing things with amazing tour guides and I would do it again and again!Show moreTrip date: June 2024

- AMatt Bartley· November 30th, 2023This feedback is specific to the Southern Italy portion of my trip with Anastasia and Giovanni. They were the most endearing, attentive, passionate, and wonderful guides. This sentiment was shared by the entire group. Giovanni was a wealth of information and he made a huge effort to ensure we experienced the best parts of Sorrento, Amalfi, and Capri. This included alternate transportation to Amalfi, a special hike to a grotto in Sorrento, and regular recommendations on where to shop or eat. Anastasia was devoted to ensuring the group felt taken care of by talking to everyone and equally sharing her knowledge of Italy while taking an interest in each of our own countries and cultures. I will genuinely miss both of them and hope I can experience another tour with them in the future.Show moreTrip date: September 2023Review collected by Italy on a Budget Tours

Asked on May 13th, 2025I am interested in this tour but I won't be able to get to Rome until June 10 afternoon due to travel contraints on my end. If I was to miss the first day and a half, would you reduce the rate I paid? Alternatively, are there other tours you suggest that cover similar places? I've already been to Rome and Venice 15 years ago. I'd rather see Rome again than Venice if that helps with suggesting alternate tours.
- Italy on a Budget ToursOperator•Written May 2025
if you wish to join the tour from the 10th June it is possible. We can apply a € 150 reduction per person of the tour price. You will miss at the end only 1 night accommodation in Rome, 1 welcome dinner and the orientation walk with our tour leader the morning of day 2. Would this work for you? At the moment the departure is confirmed so feel free to book it.

Asked on May 11th, 2025I just graduated college and am trying to plan a last-minute family trip this summer. The itinerary for this trip looks absolutely incredible and highlights all of the places in Italy I would like to see. I see that the private room options only accommodate 2 people, and we have 3. Is there anyway to book one private room for 3 people? It is just me and my parents. I can sleep on the floor or a couch, I just don't think booking a separate room for just me is necessary nor do we want to do that. Is this an option?

Traveler•Written May 2025When you reach the end of the booking it says meals are included. After reading the itinerary, it seems like the meals are not included. How many meals are actually included in the price? It seems like each time we have a meal it says "at your own pace" or "free time" although this trip is advertised as meals included.
- Italy on a Budget ToursOperator•Written May 2025
Yes, the three of you can absolutely select the private room option and be allocated together in the same room with private services. We'll make sure the accommodation fits your needs so you can stay comfortably with your parents. No need for an extra room! The meals included in the price are: Welcome dinner in Rome, Welcome drink with snacks in Florence, Wine and olive oil tasting in Tuscany. Any other meals mentioned during the trip, such as lunch or dinner during free time, are not included and give you the flexibility to explore local cuisine at your own pace & budget.

Asked on April 29th, 2025I'm interested in a tour the one I was looking at was the mamma Mia. What is the cost? It says it's on sale AU$3000 then when I check availability the price jumps to AU$5000. The other question is with the age. I am 50. Does this matter? The age group says 18 to 39? I don't really want to be with a group 50+.
- Italy on a Budget ToursOperator•Written April 2025
We offer holiday packages for all ages and price can vary depending on the departure date & room type.
