Itinerary
- Day 1RomeYou'll arrive in Rome and check in from 3:00 pm onward. If you get there early, drop your bags at the hotel and start walking around the city. At 5:00 pm, you'll meet your tour leader for a welcome briefing and orientation walk. You'll head past the Colosseum and through the Roman Forum as the sun sets, then finish with dinner at a traditional trattoria serving local Roman specialties. - Meals

- Day 2RomeStart early with an orientation walk through Rome's historic center, hitting Piazza Navona, the Spanish Steps, Pantheon, and Trevi Fountain (remember to toss in your coin). The walk takes you to Vatican City where you can explore St. Peter's Basilica and the Vatican Museums on your own or join an optional tour. Later, wander through Rome's piazzas and grab dinner at a trattoria. - Day 3RomeYou've got the entire day to spend however you want in Rome. Revisit spots you loved or hunt for new corners of the city you haven't seen yet. Maybe head to Trastevere's narrow streets and local cafes, shop along Via del Corso, or find a quiet park to relax in for a while. - Day 4Rome to Sorrento via PompeiiBoard a high-speed train heading to Naples, then continue on to Pompeii. You'll spend time walking through the remarkably preserved ruins of villas, temples, and theaters that were frozen in place by Mount Vesuvius's eruption (entry included, with optional guided tours available). Late afternoon, you'll arrive in Sorrento for check-in and an orientation walk through the old town known for its ceramics, lace, and handmade sandals. Included Activities- High-speed train to Naples

- Day 5CapriSet out on a boat from Sorrento heading to Capri. Your guide shares the island's history as you cruise across clear water. You'll have free time to explore the charming streets, relax on beaches, or visit the famous Blue Grotto. Late afternoon, you'll cool off with a swim at an ancient Roman natural pool overlooking the coast, perfect for watching the sunset with a drink. Included Activities- Scenic boat tour around Capri island to see the Green Grotto, White Grotto and Faraglioni rocks

- Day 6Amalfi Coast and PositanoTravel along the Amalfi Coast, one of the most scenic drives you'll take. Spend a couple hours in the historic town of Amalfi checking out its cathedral, relaxing on the beach, or trying local food. Later you'll head to Positano with its pastel-colored houses tumbling down the cliffs. Wander the winding lanes, browse boutiques, or take a swim. Then return to Sorrento for your final evening. Included Activities- Orientation walk through the narrow alleys of Amalfi up to the best look up point for breathtaking views

- Day 7Sorrento to Florence via NaplesYou'll travel north from the Amalfi Coast, first stopping in Naples. Your guide takes you on an orientation walk through busy streets from Piazza del Plebiscito past the grand San Carlo Theatre, then you'll have authentic Neapolitan pizza for lunch. In the afternoon, board a high-speed train to Florence. After check-in, your guide leads a welcome walk through the historic center, showing you the Duomo, Piazza della Signoria, and Ponte Vecchio. Spend the evening exploring Florence at your own pace. - Meals

- Day 8Chianti and San GimignanoLeave Florence for Chianti's rolling hills filled with vineyards and olive groves. Your guide explains the region's wine traditions. You'll visit a local winery to learn winemaking and taste Chianti wines while taking in countryside views. In the afternoon, head to San Gimignano, known as the 'Manhattan of Tuscany' for its medieval towers and hilltop position. Walk narrow streets, explore artisan shops, and soak in the timeless atmosphere. Return to Florence by late afternoon. - Meals

Then head to the Ligurian coast and Cinque Terre, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Visit villages like Riomaggiore, Vernazzo, and Manarola with their colorful houses perched on cliffs. Stroll narrow lanes, browse shops, or take a scenic coastal walk. Try fresh seafood or local white wine by the sea. Return to Florence in the evening. - Day 10FlorenceYou're spending the day exploring Florence at your own pace. The city's known for its history, architecture, and museums with countless artistic and cultural things to do. - Day 11Florence to VeniceBoard a train north to Venice, the unique city built on water. Watch the scenery shift as you leave Florence behind and enter the lagoon. After check-in, your orientation walk starts at Ponte degli Scalzi, giving you your first real look at Venice's canals. You'll navigate through winding streets and bridges to reach Piazza San Marco, St. Mark's Basilica, and the Doge's Palace. Spend the evening crossing bridges and dining at a canalside trattoria. - Day 12Venice and Island TourMorning in Venice is yours to use however you like. In the afternoon, you'll take a 4-hour boat tour to Murano, Burano, and Torcello. You'll learn about the handcrafts these islands are famous for—Murano glass and Burano lace are made right before your eyes. Explore the colorful houses and get a behind-the-scenes look at history being kept alive. The evening is free back in Venice. - Day 13Venice DepartureYour time in Italy wraps up today. Check out before 10:00 am. You can store your luggage and spend a few final hours walking Venice's streets, having a last espresso by the canals, or revisiting favorite spots. If you need to get back to Rome or elsewhere, the hotel can arrange high-speed train tickets for you.
