Asked on March 1st, 2023Do you need to know how to ski and snowboard to go on this contiki tour. I know that's a stupid question but just wondering

Traveler•Written March 2023I'm interested in booking the powder rush 9 day contiki tour from the 6th of January 2024 - 14th January's 2024. I would like to arrive a day earlier and leave a day later. Do you pick up from my accomodation and on return do you drop me at my accomodation? Also, could you recommend accomodation for the early arrival and late departure? As I'm travelling from Australia I'd appreciate you're advice and suggestions on above with flights and accomodation before and after the tour.
- ContikiOperator•Written March 2023
You can book a night of accommodation before and after your tour with us when you make a booking. The tour will usually start at these hotels and drop you back there. We also provide the option of booking flights through us. If you would like a flight quote you will need to give us a call when you are ready to book!

Asked on February 14th, 2023Is there a strict age restriction for travellers on this tour? My partner and I are in our 40's and interested in this tour. Also is there only shared room options or is there possibility to have our own room at the accommodations?
- ContikiOperator•Written February 2023
We have an age restriction as we only accept 18–35-year-olds. We offer reunion tours for 35–45-year-olds for alternative options.

Asked on January 22nd, 2023I came across this offer and it sounds really nice! I just have a couple of questions that you might be able to answer. On day 5 it says that there has to be taken a flight. From where to where is it, how much is it roughly and would it be booked in the group or separately? Also I would not have any skiing equipment (also no trouser, jacket, helmet…). Is it possible to rent all of that as well - and how much would it be?
- ContikiOperator•Written January 2023
On day 5 of this trip, there is a flight from Vancouver to Calgary which is included in the cost of the trip! As for when you hit the slopes, you will need to pack and dress accordingly so you will have to bring your own winter attire including jacket, snowpants, hat gloves, etc. But any ski/snowboard equipment such as helmet, skis, snowboard, etc can be rented. For skiing in Banff, a 1-day lift pass is approximately $109 CAD and 1 day rental for skis/poles, helmet and boots is approximately $49 CAD. And for Whistler, a 1-day lift pass is approximately $145 CAD or 1 day ski school which includes full day of ski lessons, lift pass, rentals for $304 CAD.

Traveler•Written January 2023So I looked a bit online and it seems like there are shops where it is possible to rent clothes as well. Is that true? Also can you give any information how full the March tour is already and how fast I have to book?
- ContikiOperator•Written January 2023
Our March tour is over half booked at this time, we are unsure how many people exactly but its best to book as soon as possible! If you've found some sources online that show you can rent winter clothes from thats great! We do not provide this option through Contiki.

Asked on January 16th, 2023Are the ski lift tickets included or do we have to pay extra for that?
- ContikiOperator•Written January 2023
Ski lift tickets and the equipment has to be paid for whilst on trip.

Asked on August 1st, 2022Please advise what these extra charges are: Intra Tour Air Tax The Powder Rush, Intra Tour Air The Powder Rush
- ContikiOperator•Written August 2022
There is an included flight from Vancouver to Calgary as part of this itinerary. That is the Intra Tour Air and the Intra Tour Air Tax.
- S
Sonia
Asked on December 1st, 2016Does this include the cost of airfare from Vancouver to Calgary within the tour?
- ContikiOperator•Written December 2016
There is an internal air price included which covers the cost of your internal flights on The Powder Rush and needs to be paid upfront before the tour departs. This covers the flight from Whistler on Day 5.

Asked on December 1st, 2016Are lift tickets for whistler and Banff included in the price?
- ContikiOperator•Written December 2016
The lift tickets for whistler and Banff are not included in the price.

Asked on May 1st, 2016What are the chances of the tour not pushing through?
- ContikiOperator•Written May 2016
It is not very common but sometimes in rare circumstances tours do get cancelled due to low numbers. This is quite a popular tour and therefore, again, it is unlikely but possible. If Contiki did have to cancel it they would know well in advance- usually 6 months out so if you need to change your plans you would have sufficient time to do so.

Hannah
Asked on January 1st, 2016What if i'm not interested in skiing? Are there other things to do?
- ContikiOperator•Written January 2016
The Ski locations, Whistler and Banff, both have plenty of great things to do other than Ski and are wonderful destinations in their own right. The itinerary also mentions a host of other activities that you'll be doing on the tour, so while the trip goes to Ski locations, it looks like it would be up to you as to how you spend your time.

Patrick
Asked on April 23rd, 2015What is intra tour air tax?
- ContikiOperator•Written April 2015
The intra tour air tax covers the air taxes for the flights included on this tour. It's imposed by the airlines and therefore needs to be paid before the tour departs to secure your flight as a part of this tour.
