Poor Service from the tour guide, wanted to leave a fellow traveller behind when they were a few min late because they took the wrong turn. Not happy with the guide. The hotels were dirty and mouldy. There are also limited included activity. Port tour was a waste of time. Winery tours in Australia substantially better.

The trip was great and our tour guide Daniel was fantastic. There were a few minor things missing that could have made the trip a 1, mostly out of Daniel's control.

The Madrid hotel looks quite fine, but I would just like to know, as they appear to have quite alot of different room types, what standard of room is booked for this trip?

    • Intrepid TravelOperatorWritten June 2023

Accommodation on this trip is in standard twin share rooms, mostly. Hotels include Gran Legazpi Hotel in Madrid, Hotel Monasterio de los Basilios in Granada, Hotel Don Pedro in Seville, Carvi Beach House in Lagos, Hotel GAT ROSSIO in Lisbon, Oporto house in Porto, Miradoiro de Belvis Hotel in Santiago de Compostela, and Hotel Catalonia Sagrada Familia in Barcelona.

When is the public transportation used? Between cities or from Hotel to an attraction? We are old people and don't want to carry our luggage in buses and subways/Metro.

    Transport
    • Intrepid TravelOperatorWritten May 2023

For this tour a public bus is used to travel from Granada to Seville and again 4 hours from Lagos to Lisbon. This is an 'Original' style tour which usually uses a combination of local and private transport.

So we have to carry our luggage to and on the bus? Then again to the hotel when we arrive at the destination? Is it one of those coaches where you store the luggage under the bus?

    • Intrepid TravelOperatorWritten May 2023

You will transfer your own bag onto the vehicle, at the hotels etc. On this trip, you must pack as lightly as possible because you will be expected to carry your own bag and although you won't be required to walk long distances with your luggage (max 30 minutes), we strongly recommend keeping the weight under 10kg / 22lb. The transportation is not a coach; it's a mid-sized vehicle for Max 12 passengers, the driver and the tour leader.
