- TPTina· September 18th, 2024Highly recommend this tour. I had the best time with an awesome group of people from all over the world.Show moreIntrepid Travel commented on this reviewHi Tina, it is so wonderful to read of your experience in Iceland with a group of international explorers! We are delighted to know that you had an amazing time in Iceland and we hope to see you again soon. Stay well.Trip date: August 2024
- AAnonymous· August 3rd, 2024Took the premium Iceland trip with intrepid and felt we were really ripped off. The premium trip was almost $3000 a person more than the Discover trip and only included one extra day. The hotels were not wonderful and the meals were only fair. There was no choices on the meals and they didn’t even include coffee or tea, they also did not include the transportation back to the airport at the end of the trip. Have traveled with six other companies and this was disgraceful.Show moreTrip date: July 2024

- Steve· July 16th, 2022This was an amazing once in a lifetime trip. Truly fantastic. The small group size meant we got a lot of personalized attention, we got to see a lot of extra sites, and we stayed safe from Covid exposure. Our guide was pleasant, knowledgeable and fantastic to be around; just a great guy. I think everyone else on the tour was a repeat Intrepid/TourRadar customer. If you can, I’d book one day extra in Reykjavík at both the beginning and end of the tour.Show moreIntrepid Travel commented on this reviewHi Steve - Thank you for your kind review. - Soyoung· July 18th, 2021I only had two days of private bathroom out of whole time ( one shower didn’t drained, unable to finish shower)! Very low quality rooms! It was hostel room basically! Iceland itself is beautiful but accommodation was horrible, I have never have been treated like this low quality! I have been through Tourradar before. I will never go through this again! We are not a back packers group!!! We stayed hostel most of times! It is your job to get private bathrooms attached to rooms! All of us been horrified about accommodations! But let me make clear that Our guid Einor was professional and kind guid! He did best he could help us out! It’s the your company put us like dirty rooms!Show moreIntrepid Travel commented on this reviewHi So Young! We're sorry to hear that you were unhappy with the accommodation on your trip. - TBTiffany· October 17th, 2019Incredible trip! Shame the itinerary is changing for 2020 as it’s cutting out my 2 favorite stays on the trip. Still..I’m not a tour person at all. I prefer off the beaten path, flexibility for unexpected adventures, etc. but Jónas provided all of this. He was the best!!!! As a avid single, female, I’ve realized done a lot of solo travel but there are many places I’d like to go that aren’t the best choice for a single, solo, female traveler. However, now that I’ve found f Intrepid Tours, the doors have opened and I am already looking at where to go next.Show moreTrip date: September 2019

Asked on July 19th, 2024Does the adventure include airport transfers? If not, could you provide them with those transfers and the price? Can the travelers request vegan or vegetarian food? What is the difficulty level of the Skaftafell National Park? Will they have a private room and private bathroom at both, the hotel and guesthouse? Are you able to provide them with pre-accommodation? What is the price? When will you be confirming the final list of accommodations? Is the adventure covering the entire circle of Iceland? Why is it required to have a waterproof jacket and pants? Are hiking boots required? If the travelers change their mind about the dates, what are the options?
- Intrepid TravelOperator•Written July 2024
Airport transfers are not included however we can arrange them at an additional cost. From Reykjavik airport (RKV) to our starting hotel Fosshotel Baron the cost would be $280 if flying into the Keflavik Airport then it would be $260. These prices are for a private vehicle transfer for 2 people they are not per person. Departure transfer back to the airport would be the same price. We are able to accommodate many different dietary requirements. Upon booking just make sure to fill our your passenger info especially the dietary section so that our team is made aware. It is important to note that options may be limited in country as Iceland is a very meat heavy destination. We do not visit Skaftafell National Park on this itinerary so I am unsure how physical that hike is. Instead we go to Thingvellir National Park & Snaefellsnes National Park. The walks on this itinerary are not very physical and are more take it at your own pace. Accommodation on this trip will be on twin share basis. Please note there may be times where facilities will be shared rather than ensuite but it mostly depends on availability. We are able to provide pre and post accommodations if needed. The cost for a pre and post at the Fosshotel would be $380 USD per night for a twin share. The final accommodation list usually doesn't get finalized until 14 days prior to departure however it is still subjected to change and is not 100% guaranteed. If you are referring to the Golden Circle then yes, this itinerary does include and 300km. You will visit Strokkur Geysir, Gullfoss Waterfall, and Thingvellir National Park. The Icelandic climate is very unpredictable the whole year round. We recommend bringing sturdy shoes with a good grip for trekking, a warm wind and rainproof jacket and trousers, gloves or mittens, good head wear and sunglasses. We are able to make changes to the booking date as long as we are outside of final payment which is 56 days prior to departure. If you'd like to book the 16SEP departure then you have until 22JUL2024 to make any changes without penalties. Once final payment is made any changes are cancellations will be as per our terms and conditions.
