- Day 1
Arrival at Kilimanjaro
You'll land at Kilimanjaro International Airport where someone from the tour company will meet you. From there it's a transfer to your hotel for the night, giving you time to settle in and adjust to the time zone.

Arusha National Park
Head out to Arusha National Park for your first real adventure. The park has everything from Mount Meru's forests down to the Momella Lakes and Ngurdoto Crater. You'll likely spot giraffes, zebras, flamingos, and those striking black-and-white colobus monkeys, all with Mount Kilimanjaro visible in the distance. After the game drive you'll return to your Arusha hotel for dinner and overnight.

Arusha to Lake Natron
Today's drive takes you from Arusha north to Lake Natron, which has those otherworldly red waters and massive flamingo colonies. You'll also visit Ol Donyo Lengai, the active volcano the Maasai call the 'Mountain of God.' The Great Rift Valley views along the way are dramatic, and there's time for meeting local people before reaching your hotel for dinner and overnight.

Lake Natron and Sonjo Tribe
Spend this day at Lake Natron exploring the striking soda lake itself with its intense colors and where flamingos breed. Then you'll head to the Sonjo tribe, a smaller traditional community here that practices terraced farming and has unique irrigation methods. It's a good chance to see how they actually live rather than just passing through.

Landmarks Lake Natron - Day 5
Lake Natron to Northern Serengeti
You'll travel south from Lake Natron into the Northern Serengeti's open plains. This region is where the Great Migration happens, so depending on timing, you might see massive herds crossing the Mara River. After game drives through the area, you'll settle back at camp for dinner and overnight.

Great Migration
Another full day in the Northern Serengeti lets you focus on the Great Migration river crossing if it's happening. Watching thousands of wildebeest and zebras trying to cross while crocodiles wait below is intense and worth the time. You'll have good photography opportunities. Back to camp afterward for dinner and overnight.

Landmarks Northern Serengeti Mara River - Day 7
Northern Serengeti to Central Serengeti
After breakfast you'll drive south through varied landscapes toward Central Serengeti. Keep watching for wildlife as you cross different habitats. The Seronera Valley area has permanent water, which means lions, leopards, elephants, and big herds of plant-eaters all congregate here. That gives you solid chances for sightings. Return to camp for dinner and overnight.

Central Serengeti to Ngorongoro Conservation Area
One last morning game drive in Central Serengeti, then you'll head toward Ngorongoro Conservation Area. The drive itself is scenic with Great Rift Valley views showing up as you get closer. You might spot more animals during the transition. Arrive in time to relax at your lodge, which sits right above the crater rim.

Hadzabe and Datuga Tribes at Lake Eyasi
About 30 minutes from the lodge you'll meet the Hadzabe tribe, one of the last hunter-gatherer groups who originally came from Namibia and Botswana but settled around Lake Eyasi. Join their early morning hunting expeditions and see their bush habitat. Later you'll visit the Datuga tribe who work as blacksmiths making the arrows used in hunts. Return to camp for dinner and overnight.

Landmarks Lake Eyasi - Day 10
Tarangire National Park
Head into Tarangire National Park, which has those massive ancient baobab trees scattered across the landscape and herds of elephants. During dry seasons animals bunch up around the Tarangire River, so you'll likely see lions, giraffes, zebras, and lots of different birds. Return to your hotel for dinner and overnight.

Departure from Kilimanjaro
