Itinerary
- Day 1
Amman
You'll arrive at Queen Alia International Airport where a complimentary transfer takes you to your hotel in Amman. After settling in, spend the rest of the day getting oriented and preparing your gear for the cycling adventure starting tomorrow.
- Day 2
Jordan Rift Valley - Madaba
Following the tour briefing, you'll head to Jerash to walk through one of the Middle East's best-preserved Roman cities. Then it's time to meet your bikes and cycle about 3 hours 30 minutes through the Jordan Rift Valley foothills, riding quiet roads and passing small villages before arriving in Madaba, known as the City of Mosaics.

Mount Nebo - Dead Sea - Petra
This morning you'll see the famous Byzantine mosaics in Madaba, particularly the sixth-century Jerusalem mosaic at St George's Church. After that, you'll get back on your bikes for a 4.3 mile climb up Mount Nebo with valley views all around, then enjoy the descent down to the Dead Sea where you can float in the mineral-rich water. Following a shower, there's a long drive south along the Kings Highway to Petra with several stops to take in the scenery.

Petra
You'll spend the day exploring Petra, the red-and-yellow sandstone city carved right into the cliffs. Walk through the narrow Siq to reach the Treasury, then check out the higher caves and the High Place of Sacrifice. There's plenty to see including ground-level houses, tombs, and an ancient amphitheatre. If you're up for it, climb about 800 steps to reach the remote Monastery with its impressive carved facade.

Little Petra (Siq Al-Barid)
You'll cycle north to Little Petra and the Siq Al-Barid, which has a classical temple and narrow passages filled with ancient structures. Look for first century CE painted frescoes in one of the biclinia. After exploring, you'll spend another night in Petra.

Wadi Araba - Aqaba
Starting early to avoid the heat, you'll tackle the longest and most challenging cycling day through traditional Bedouin territory toward Ar-Rajif and then deeper into the desert through Dilagha to Wadi Araba. There's a good chance you'll stop for tea with locals along the way. The landscape is spectacular but demanding, and afterward, you'll drive to Aqaba on the Red Sea.

Wadi Rum
The morning is yours to relax on the beach, swim, or go snorkelling (equipment costs extra). In the early afternoon, you'll take one final bike ride on a fairly flat desert road into Wadi Rum, the location of Lawrence of Arabia. There you'll experience real Bedouin hospitality with a traditional zarb dinner cooked underground, sweet tea, and a night in a goat-hair tent under the stars with the option to sleep outside.

Amman
After breakfast, a 4x4 takes you deep into the desert for about two hours to see the vast landscape and towering rocky outcrops. Following lunch surrounded by the desert scenery, you'll transfer back to Amman, which takes roughly four hours with a stop somewhere along the way.

Amman
You'll have a final breakfast to think back on the week's journey. Then a free shared transfer will take you to the airport for your flight home.
