Itinerary
- Day 1
Quito
Your plane touches down at Quito Airport and you'll transfer directly to Casa Aliso. Get yourself settled into your accommodation and take some time to adjust before things kick off tomorrow.

Quito
You have the full day to explore Quito on your own schedule. There's an optional guided city tour if you want structured insights, or you can wander through the historic centre at your own pace to see the colonial architecture and get a feel for local life.

Santa Rita Ecological Reserve
This morning you'll head out to Santa Rita Ecological Reserve for a hike through the trails and waterfalls. The reserve has some really nice natural scenery, and after you're done exploring, you'll settle in at Hacienda El Porvenir for the night.

Hacienda El Porvenir
Start early with a horseback ride on the slopes of Ruminahui volcano, which gives you a different perspective on the landscape. Later in the day, you'll participate in a traditional Ecuadorian cooking class where you'll learn to prepare local dishes. Another night at Hacienda El Porvenir.

Landmarks Ruminahui - Day 5
Cotopaxi National Park
Today takes you to Cotopaxi National Park where the dramatic volcano dominates the scenery. You'll hike through the park's varied terrain and see the different landscapes the region has to offer.

Quito
Back in Quito for a free day to do whatever you need. Rest up if you're tired, handle some shopping, explore neighborhoods on your own, or prepare mentally and logistically for the Amazon portion starting tomorrow.
- Day 7
Quito to Zancudo Lodge
You'll transfer from Quito to Lago Agrio in the morning, then switch to a canoe for a journey down the Aguarico River. It's a long travel day, but you'll end up at Zancudo Lodge deep in the rainforest where you'll stay overnight.

- Day 8
Zancudo Lodge - Cocha Lake
During the day you'll do guided hikes and canoe trips around Cocha Lake to see what the rainforest offers. By evening, you'll head out on a night trek where you'll spot nocturnal animals that only come out after dark.

- Day 9
Lagarto Cocha River
You'll paddle down the Lagarto Cocha River watching for pink and grey river dolphins that live in these waters. At night, you'll camp near the river so you're really sleeping in the jungle and can experience the rainforest after sunset.

- Day 10
Flooded Forest
A hike through the flooded forest ecosystem shows you how animals adapt to wetland conditions. Later, you'll visit an indigenous community to learn about how they live traditionally and work with the forest.

- Day 11
Cocaya River
Today you'll navigate white-water sections of the Aguarico River with pristine rainforest on both sides. You'll stay overnight in a simple indigenous lodge and take an evening jungle hike to explore the area around you.

- Day 12
Amazon Rainforest
Morning brings bird-watching and a forest hike to look for wildlife. In the afternoon, you'll try piranha fishing in the river, which is one of those activities that sounds intense but you'll probably find it more interesting than scary.

- Day 13
Nueva Rocafuerte Village
You'll visit an indigenous community conservation project to see their environmental work firsthand. Then you'll navigate the Napo River and spend time in village life before staying overnight in a local hostel.

- Day 14
Amazon to Quito
The journey back starts with a speedboat ride down the Napo River to Coca. From there you'll transfer back to Quito and check into the Wyndham Quito Airport hotel for your final night.

Quito
After checking out, the Wyndham shuttle will take you to Quito Airport with plenty of time to handle your check-in and get through the airport before your flight departs.
