Itinerary
- Day 1
Bruges
You'll arrive in Bruges at 2 PM for check-in on the De Holland cruise ship. After getting your bikes and taking a short test ride to feel comfortable on them, you'll have dinner on board. The evening is yours to wander through Bruges' medieval streets at your own pace. About 11 km of cycling today, mostly the test ride.

- Day 2
Bruges to Ghent
Start with a short boat trip, then cycle through the Flemish countryside along the Ghent-Bruges Canal toward Ghent. You'll have the afternoon to check out this medieval city, walking through the illuminated center and seeing the historic architecture. The ship stays overnight at a lock in Merelbeke, roughly 30 minutes by bike from Ghent's center. About 57 km of cycling.

- Day 3
Ghent to Dendermonde
You'll cycle downstream from Ghent through changing landscapes along the tidal river Scheldt, heading to Dendermonde where the Dender and Scheldt rivers meet. The scenery along the Scheldt shifts nicely and makes for one of the trip's better natural sections. Keep in mind the ship's pace depends on tides here. Approximately 40 km of cycling.

Landmarks Dendermonde Scheldt River - Day 4
Dendermonde to Antwerp
Following the Scheldt downstream, you'll ride through the villages of Temse and Baasrode before reaching Antwerp. This river has strategic importance going back centuries, with Romans, Vikings, Spaniards, and Napoleon all recognizing its value. Once in Antwerp, spend time at the town hall, Grote Markt square, the Cathedral of Our Lady, and the medieval Steen Castle. The city's known for diamond trade and was home to painter Peter Paul Rubens. About 48-61 km of cycling.

- Day 5
Antwerp to Dordrecht
The ship sails across the Scheldt-Rhine Canal to the massive Kreekrak locks, where you'll start cycling through the Wouwse Plantage forest. You'll ride to Tholen, a former fishing village that's now connected to the mainland after the delta project. After that, board the ship again and sail through the impressive Volkerak locks to reach Dordrecht. Between 20-36 km of cycling today.

Dordrecht to Vianen
You have the option to take the Waterbus to Alblasserdam, then bike a short distance to Kinderdijk, which has 19 UNESCO-protected windmills from the 18th century that once pumped water for the polder. From there, continue cycling via Schoonhoven to Vianen, a small fortified town on the Lek river. The ship docks here overnight, giving you time to explore after dinner. About 57 km of cycling.

Vianen to Amsterdam
While eating breakfast, the ship sails to Breukelen where you'll disembark to start your final cycle ride. You'll bike along the River Vecht, where the banks have manor houses, small castles, and country homes with gardens leading down to the water. Ride through Nieuwersluis, Loenen, and Vreeland to Nigtevecht, with an optional stop at a traditional cheese dairy. Then continue through the fortified town of Muiden and into Amsterdam, where you'll meet the ship again for the last night. About 36-46 km of cycling.
