- Day 1
London to Durham
Head out from London going north through England, starting with Cambridge where you'll check out the university colleges. After grabbing lunch, continue on to York to walk through the cathedral, see the Roman walls, and browse the shopping streets. By evening you'll arrive in Durham, a medieval town where the cathedral and castle dominate the skyline.

- Day 2
Durham to Edinburgh
Travel north into Scotland with a stop in Alnwick to see the gardens and the medieval castle that was used in Harry Potter films. From there, head to Edinburgh, arriving around midday. You'll get a panoramic tour of Scotland's capital, which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, with views of the castle overlooking the city's steep streets and parks.

- Day 3
Edinburgh to Glasgow
Start the day with coffee and a stroll in Pitlochry. You'll pass near Inverness and Loch Ness, then visit Urquhart Castle and take a boat ride on the loch itself. After that, continue past Fort Augustus and Fort William at the base of Ben Nevis (the UK's highest peak), traveling through high plateaus with scenic views, then skirt the shores of Loch Lomond before reaching Glasgow. Note: A special winter itinerary runs November 15 through February 28 with a whisky distillery visit and Stirling Castle substituted instead.

Glasgow to Dublin
Leave Glasgow heading south to Cairnryan where you'll board a ferry to Northern Ireland. You'll arrive in Belfast, the capital of Northern Ireland, then continue into Ireland, ending the day in Dublin.

- Day 5
Dublin
Start with a panoramic tour of Dublin, Ireland's capital. Walk along the River Liffey, checking out parks, the historic university, and vibrant downtown streets. You'll see the exterior of Trinity College. The afternoon is yours to explore on your own and wander around the city at your pace.

- Day 6
Dublin to Liverpool
Board a ferry early in the morning for a three to three-and-a-half hour journey to Wales. You'll arrive in Caernarfon, a seaside World Heritage Site with an impressive castle, and have time for lunch and a stroll around. Then it's on to Liverpool for a short bus tour of this World Heritage Site with the UK's second-largest port.

- Day 7
Liverpool to Birmingham
After breakfast, travel to Chester, a historic city on the Wales border with a preserved Roman amphitheater, medieval walls, and great architecture. You'll have time to walk around, then stop for lunch in charming Lichfield with its cobbled streets and medieval three-spire cathedral. Later, continue to Birmingham, the UK's second-largest city and an important hub during the Industrial Revolution. Today it's a vibrant economic and cultural center with canals that are more extensive than Venice's, lined with restaurants and entertainment venues.

Head out for Stratford, a historic 12th-century town on the River Avon and the birthplace of William Shakespeare. Travel through scenic countryside and charming villages to reach Stow on the Wold, a stone village with art galleries and antique stores. Stop in Gloucester for lunch at the lively docks and explore the historic center with its grand cathedral (which was used in some Harry Potter filming). Finish the day in Bath, known for its hot springs and Georgian architecture.

Bath to London
Spend time in Bath exploring the Roman baths and Georgian architecture if you want to. Continue through southern England to Stonehenge, one of the world's most famous prehistoric monuments with mysterious origins. Stop in Salisbury for lunch in its charming medieval center and visit the impressive cathedral with England's tallest spire. You'll return to London at the end of the day.
