Itinerary
- Day 1
Delhi
You'll arrive in Delhi and have time to walk around the city before your 6 pm welcome meeting. If you get in early, check out historic sites like Humayun's Tomb, Qutub Minar, or Red Fort. After meeting your group, there's an optional dinner where you can try local dishes such as chicken tikka masala or vegetarian curry.

Delhi
Start the day with a walking tour through Chandni Chowk and Connaught Place in Delhi's busy commercial area. You'll take a bicycle rickshaw through Old Delhi and visit the Gurudwara Sis Ganj Sahib Sikh shrine. There's a chance to make chapatis in the community kitchen. Later, you board an overnight train heading to Bikaner.

Bikaner
You'll arrive in Bikaner, a fortified Rajasthan town known for its red sandstone palaces and forts. Your leader gives an orientation tour, then you have free time to explore on your own. Consider taking a tuk-tuk tour of the Old City and sampling street food like bhujia or having a thali dinner.

Bikaner
The day is yours to explore Bikaner at your own pace. Junagarh Fort comes highly recommended. Try local drinks like Chunilal sharbat. This evening, you'll join a cooking demonstration at a local family's home where you'll learn to make chai and chapati, plus discover regional aloe vera dishes. Dinner happens together afterward.

Bikaner to Jaisalmer
You'll take a local train to Jaisalmer, arriving at this striking yellow sandstone fort town. After some free time to rest, you'll do an orientation walk with your leader through the winding alleyways lined with markets and carved houses. Later, explore dining options that your leader recommends.

Jaisalmer
Pack an overnight bag and ride a 4WD vehicle into the Thar Desert to experience this medieval trading center's desert setting. You'll help set up camp while guides prepare a vegetarian campfire meal with chapati, dal, rice and vegetables. Sleep under the stars on provided bedding.

Thar Desert to Jodhpur
Wake early to catch the desert sunrise, then have a simple breakfast. Afterward, climb back into the 4WD and return to Jaisalmer. You'll have free time to explore the city before catching a train to Jodhpur, the blue city. Tonight you'll stay in a family-run homestay in the old town.

Jodhpur
Explore Jodhpur at your own pace. Bargain at Sadar Bazaar, one of India's oldest markets built around a clock tower, where spice vendors, juice sellers, and sari materials fill the streets. You can browse everything from Bollywood soundtracks to bangles and street snacks. Head up to Mehrangarh Fort on the hill for views over the town and insights into royal history.

Jodhpur to Khinwara
Travel to Khinwara for a heritage homestay experience and watch the landscape shift from desert to the lakes near Udaipur. After settling in, you'll have free time to relax and chat with your hosts. An optional farm visit lets you wander the grounds and have chai and cookies with the family.

Khinwara to Udaipur
Say goodbye to your hosts and head to Udaipur, India's romantic city. Walk around to get oriented, then wander through twisting alleyways with silver shops, shoe vendors, bags, leather goods and miniature paintings. Your free afternoon includes a sunset boat ride on Pichola Lake, passing Lake Palace and Jag Mandir Island, followed by dinner on a rooftop overlooking the water.

Udaipur
You have extensive free time to explore Udaipur. Visit the City Palace, one of India's largest royal palaces with vivid murals, antiques and royal utensils on display. Or join a half-day at the Spice Box cooking school to learn Indian cooking techniques and prepare a full meal from scratch.

Udaipur to Jaipur
Travel early to Jaipur, the Pink City. Walk through bustling streets filled with camels, motorbikes and rickshaws past traditionally dressed Rajputs. Haggle in bazaars for textiles, semi-precious gems and blue pottery. Check out the Royal City Palace with its courtyard gates and museums. Tonight, consider catching a Bollywood film at the stylish Raj Mandir Cinema.

Jaipur
Start with an optional hot air balloon ride early morning for views over Jaipur. Visit Hawa Mahal (Palace of the Winds), famous for its five-storey pink honeycombed design. Explore Amber Fort's hilltop complex and the Sheesh Mahal with its mirror-covered walls. Try local street snacks like raj kachori chaat or grab a lassi from historic Lassiwala on MI Road.

Agra to Delhi
Return to the Taj Mahal in the early morning to see it at sunrise in a different light. Then hop on a train back to Delhi. Upon arrival, rest and recharge or explore local dining options. Tonight, celebrate your trip with a quiet drink with your group.
