- Day 3
Fribourg to Chiasso
Starting from Bern canton with a photo stop at Schwarzenburg Castle or a scenic overlook, you head toward Interlaken wedged between two lakes. The Aare Gorge visit includes your ticket and lunch, so you can walk through those towering limestone walls without extra hassle. Then comes the real mountain experience as you cross either the Susten or Brünig Pass depending on conditions, seeing glaciers and dramatic peaks all around. After the Gotthard Tunnel, you stop in the quiet waterfront village of Gandria before finishing with a boat ride into Lugano and then on to Chiasso.

There you'll see the Kapellbrücke's wooden bridge, the Lion Monument carved into rock, along with the cathedral and Jesuit Church before arriving in Zurich.
