If your timing works out, there's a possible stop at Weligama Fisherman's Bay to watch the traditional stilt fishermen doing their thing. Once you reach your beachfront hotel, the afternoon and early evening are yours to spend however you like. Walk the beach, swim, or try something like snorkeling or a boat tour if you're interested. Later in the afternoon you'll drive to Weligama to see the famous stilt fishermen, then continue on to Unawatuna Beach where you can relax or do water activities if you want. The Bentota Palama bridge shows up next, a colonial-era structure from the British period, followed by Lunuganga Estate, which is the quiet garden that architect Geoffrey Bawa designed for himself. The afternoon is more relaxed with a city tour where you can look through souvenirs and local handmade items, then spend time on Bentota Beach or by your hotel pool. We truly enjoyed our time in Sri Lanka and appreciated the opportunity to experience the country from a local perspective. The train rides were definitely a highlight — fun, authentic, and even more breathtaking than expected. One of the most memorable moments was making the long, winding journey from Ella to cross the iconic Nine Arch Bridge. The scenery along the way was stunning, and sharing the ride with locals made it feel even more special — a true “wow” experience, even better than what you see in photos. Our driver was excellent throughout the journey, driving safely and ensuring we had plenty of breaks to stay comfortable. Overall, Ran lanka Tour Holidays provided the best service and made our trip truly memorable.

We are two solo women travelers from Doha, Qatar, who recently embarked on an exciting journey with RanlankaTour Holidays' Solo Holidays Tour. Our adventure began on a beautiful day, but shortly after the tour started, heavy rain set in. Despite the downpour, we enjoyed every moment thanks to our fantastic guide, Chandana. The rain persisted for the first three days, leaving us thoroughly soaked, but the stunning scenery and unique charm of each place we visited made it all worthwhile. Chandana’s kindness, knowledge, and expertise greatly enhanced our experience, helping us find joy even in the rainiest moments. Once the weather cleared, our experience became even more delightful, making it a trip to remember. We truly appreciate the thoughtfully arranged activities and highly recommend RanlankaTour Holidays for anyone planning a trip to Sri Lanka.

Best tour ever. Our tour guide, Chandana, did an amazing job taking us around Sri Lanka. Every year I want to go back. Seeing all the elephants was the best part.
