Itinerary

1. Day 1

   Negombo

   You'll be met at Bandaranaike International Airport and driven to your beachfront hotel in Negombo, about 20 minutes away. After settling in, spend the afternoon walking around the Dutch Canal and checking out the fishing villages along Negombo Lagoon. There's time to relax on the beach or back at your hotel before your guide goes over tomorrow's itinerary with you in the evening.

2. Day 2

   Negombo to Sigiriya

   Start early at 6:00 AM heading toward Sigiriya, stopping first at the Dambulla Golden Cave Temple. From there, you'll climb Sigiriya Rock Fortress, a 5th-century citadel with incredible views across the jungle. In the afternoon, experience rural Sri Lankan life with bullock cart rides, river safaris through paddy fields, and walks around the countryside. You'll stay overnight in the Sigiriya or Habarana area.

3. Day 3

   Sigiriya to Kandy

   Head out at 6:00 AM toward Kandy, the last royal capital. First, walk through the Peradeniya Royal Botanical Gardens, which span 147 acres and have some rare plants. Then check out the Temple of the Tooth Relic, one of Buddhism's most important sites. Later, stroll around Kandy Lake and wander through the local market. If you're interested, there's an optional traditional cultural dance performance in the evening.

4. Day 4

   Kandy to Nuwara Eliya

   You'll drive through winding mountain roads with tea plantations and waterfalls lining the way toward Nuwara Eliya, a colonial town sometimes called 'Little England.' Stop at Ramboda Falls Viewpoint for lunch at the Ramboda Falls Hotel with nice views. Then visit a working tea factory to see how tea is made and walk through the tea fields. Before the day ends, see Gregory Lake and Seetha Amman Temple, with optional boat or horse rides if you want.

5. Day 5

   Nuwara Eliya to Kitulgala to Negombo

   After breakfast, drive from Nuwara Eliya through tea estates and waterfalls toward Kitulgala, known for adventure activities. You'll do white-water rafting on the Kelani River followed by a safe river bath. Lunch is a traditional Sri Lankan rice and curry meal at the rafting camp in the rainforest. Other options include rock pool sliding, confidence jumps, or mountain biking. By evening, you'll head back to Negombo beach town to relax.

6. Day 6

   Negombo to Colombo Departure

   Your trip wraps up with a relaxed morning at Negombo beach. You can also take an optional drive through Colombo to see colonial buildings, modern skyscrapers, busy bazaars, and cultural sites if you'd like. Your driver will then take you to Bandaranaike International Airport via the Colombo-Katunayake Expressway for your departure.
