Itinerary
- Day 1
Venice
You'll arrive in Venice and get transferred from the airport by car and water taxi to reach your hotel. At 6 pm there's a welcome meeting where you'll connect with your leader and other travelers. If your flight gets in early, you'll have time to wander around and see the bridges, towers, piazzas, canals and churches throughout the city. Later in the evening, head to dinner at a local restaurant where you'll try fresh seafood and vegetables from the Veneto region.

Venice to Bled
Leave Venice and head toward Postojna Caves, where you'll take a 2 km open-top train through narrow tunnels to see the largest classic karst cave in Europe with its stalactites and stalagmites. After grabbing lunch, you'll continue on to Ljubljana for a guided walk through the Old Town. You'll see Ljubljana Castle, Town Hall, Cathedral of St Nicholas and the Dragon Bridge, then check out the open market under the arcades. By late afternoon you'll drive to the lakeside town of Bled.

Bled
In the morning, you'll drive through the Sava Bohinjka Valley to Lake Bohinj, Slovenia's largest permanent natural lake. A cable car takes you up Mt Vogel where you'll get panoramic views of evergreen woods and blue water. Back in Bled, you'll have lunch at a local restaurant, then take a traditional Pletna boat to the island on Lake Bled. You'll climb 99 steps up to St Mary's Church. The rest of the evening is yours to explore Bled and try the famous Bled cream cake.

Motovun to Buzet
You'll drive to Motovun, a medieval town sitting on a cone-shaped hill in the truffle-rich Mirna River Valley. At a family-owned farm you'll taste truffles and fritaja, a Croatian omelette, paired with Istrian wines including Malvazija. Next you'll head to the award-winning Kabola Winery for more wine tasting. After that, you'll continue to the traditional village of Buzet positioned on a hilltop with panoramic views of the River Mirna.

Buzet to Plitvice Lakes
You'll have a late morning in Buzet before heading to the villages of Slunj and Rastoke on the Korana River banks. There you'll walk through these well-preserved villages to see traditional wooden houses and water mills. Later you'll drive to your hotel just outside Plitvice Lakes National Park. Your leader can give you a leisurely walk to help you get your bearings if you'd like, and then the rest of the afternoon and evening are free.

Plitvice Lakes to Zadar
You'll spend the day exploring Plitvice Lakes National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage site with wooded hills, turquoise lakes and waterfalls. Your leader will point out the best trails based on what interests you. Afterward, you'll drive to Zadar for an afternoon sightseeing tour with a local guide. You'll see the Roman Forum, St Donatus' Church, St Grisigono's Church, St Mary's bell tower, St Anastasia's Cathedral and the People's Square. The day ends with a sunset drink overlooking the bay.

Zadar
This day is yours to explore Zadar on your own. You can visit excellent museums like the Museum of Church Art, the Archaeological Museum and the National Museum. Don't miss the modern attractions called 'Greeting to the Sun' and the 'Sea Organ', a man-made organ with 35 pipes that creates music from wave motion. You could also check out the vibrant fish markets, swim in the clear coastal waters, or just relax in one of the city's cafes.

Zadar to Split
After breakfast you'll drive to Split with a stop in Sibenik. There you'll walk through stone houses, churches and narrow alleys to see St Jacob's Cathedral, a UNESCO-protected 15th-century church. You'll grab lunch and then continue to Split, Croatia's second-largest city on the Dalmatian coast. When you arrive you'll check into your Feature Stay boutique hotel on the most beautiful square in the city. Later you'll join your group for dinner at a local restaurant.
