Itinerary
- Day 1
Perth to Kalbarri
Meet your group early and drive north from Perth toward the Pinnacles at Nambung National Park, where ancient rock formations rise from the desert landscape. You'll then head to Pink Lake near Port Gregory to see the unique pink-hued waters, then continue through Geraldton and arrive in the beach town of Kalbarri for your first night.

- Day 2
Kalbarri
A short drive takes you into Kalbarri National Park where you'll hike around Murchison Gorge and Nature's Window, then tackle the steep descent into Z-Bend Gorge. After grabbing lunch, you head to Shell Beach, one of only two beaches worldwide made entirely of shells. By evening you'll be heading toward Denham and Shark Bay.

Shark Bay to Coral Bay
Start your day at Monkey Mia beach for the dolphin experience, then explore the shores around Francoise Peron National Park. You'll visit Hamelin Pool to see stromatolites, ancient living fossils and some of the world's oldest marine rock formations. Later you drive through Carnarvon and on to Coral Bay, known as the 'Jewel of the Northwest'.

Coral Bay
Spend your day at Coral Bay checking out the World Heritage-listed Ningaloo Reef. Snorkel gear is available to rent at your own cost, or you can take a glass-bottom boat cruise to see the tropical life below. The reef has 250 species of coral and over 500 fish species. There's also an optional scenic flight over the reef if you're interested.

- Day 5
Coral Bay to Exmouth
Morning time in Cape Range National Park gives you the chance to snorkel right off the beach. Depending on the season, you might snorkel or scuba dive looking for whale sharks and manta rays. You'll visit Vlamingh Head Lighthouse, one of the few places in Australia where you can see both sunrise and sunset. Later you explore Exmouth before settling in for the night.

Exmouth to Karijini
You head inland through the Pilbara's vast cattle stations, traveling through red earth country rich with mineral deposits. The drive takes you through Tom Price, known for its iron ore mining operations. You'll arrive at your campsite overlooking the Hamersley Range in Karijini, and at night you can look up at one of the clearest night skies you'll likely see.

- Day 7
Karijini
Today's all about the gorges in Karijini National Park, formed over 2,500 million years ago. The Hamersley Ranges have cascading waterfalls and fresh waterholes for swimming. You'll hike through Dales Gorge, Oxlers Lookout, Fortescue Falls, Fern Pool, Weano and Hancock Gorge. This is considered a real highlight of your entire journey.

You'll head back into the gorges today for further exploration of Karijini National Park and the fascinating landscape around you.

Karijini to Port Hedland
This morning you depart Karijini and travel toward the coast, a drive of about four hours. You'll stop at Port Hedland, the second most populated town in the Pilbara, for a quick tour to understand the scale of the iron ore industry. After lunch you continue to a nearby station where you'll spend your last night in this region.

Port Hedland to Broome
The six-hour drive to Broome includes a leisurely break to walk along the impressive 80-Mile Beach. Once you arrive in Broome, you'll say goodbye to some group members and enjoy a sunset over the water, a fitting way to end part one of your overland adventure.

Broome to Western Kimberley
After some highway driving you reach the Fitzroy River, then it's all off-road travel through the Napier Range. The main focus is a guided walk through Dimalurru (Tunnel Creek), a vast cave system that extends 750 metres underground. After exploring, you'll relax at camp in the Western Kimberley around the campfire.

- Day 16
Western Kimberley
You head to Windjana Gorge, which was an underwater reef 350 million years ago. During wet season a river flows through it; in the dry season it becomes a series of ponds and billabongs where you might spot freshwater crocodiles. In the afternoon you explore Bell Gorge (if open) with its waterfall cascade and plunge pool for swimming before heading to camp along the Gibb River Road.

Western Kimberley
Morning takes you to Manning Gorge for a swim in the pools under Manning Falls. After hiking in, you'll swim in a large rock pool at the base of the falls. The afternoon has you exploring Galvins Gorge before returning to camp to relax around the campfire.

Western Kimberley to Kunnunurra
Today you ford rivers and navigate gorges on a 4WD journey along the wild Gibb River Road, a 600-kilometre stretch through the heart of the Kimberley. You'll travel through remote country and pass the famous Pentecost River for that iconic photo. By evening you'll reach Kunnunurra and camp under the stars along the mighty Ord River.

Kunnunurra to Purnululu
You drive through Carr Boyd and the Durack Ranges into Purnululu National Park, home to the Bungle Bungles UNESCO World Heritage Site with massive sandstone karsts rising hundreds of metres. You'll take an unforgettable walk into Echidna Chasm and arrive at the bush camp in time to watch the sunset over the Osmond Ranges. You can sleep in a tent or under the stars in a swag.

- Day 20
Purnululu
You'll have time to explore one of the planet's most remote World Heritage parks. Another walk takes you through Cathedral Gorge in Purnululu. There's an optional helicopter flight over the Bungles if you want a different perspective. As evening arrives, you'll head back to your camp near Purnululu.

Purnululu to El Questro Station
After packing up camp you experience more serious 4WD action heading out of the Bungle Bungles through the East Kimberley. The afternoon has you at El Questro Station where you'll hike into Emma Gorge to see a waterfall and take a swim. By evening you'll drive to an exclusive camp on the Ord River.

Kunnunurra
Today you wake up without having to pack. Take time to explore the Ord River system where there are no saltwater crocodiles. Your guide will show you around Kunnunurra, the East Kimberley's main hub, including stops at Hoochery Distillery and Mirima National Park walks. In late afternoon you walk to an exclusive lookout over the Upper Ord River to watch the Kimberley sunset colours change.

Kunnunurra to Katherine
Shortly after breakfast you have the option to cruise Lake Argyle, a massive body of water created by the Ord River Dam and Australia's biggest man-made lake. You'll cross the state border from Western Australia into the Northern Territory, catching last views of boab trees as you head toward Katherine and its hot springs. Camp is just outside Nitmiluk National Park.

Katherine to Darwin
On your final day you can stop at either the secluded Nitmiluk (Katherine Gorge) or take one last swim in the cool waters of Edith Falls. In the afternoon you make your way to Darwin where your adventure concludes.
