Itinerary
- Day 1
La Paz
You'll arrive in La Paz and have time before the 6 pm welcome meeting. If you get there early, walk through the side streets or head out to Moon Valley to see the dramatic canyon formations. The cable car ride up to the Witches Market is worth doing if you have a couple hours. After everyone gathers for the meeting, you'll have dinner with your new group.

- Day 2
La Paz to Sucre
This day is yours to fill. Check out the Museo de la Coca to learn about the history of the coca plant, or join the optional food tour that includes fresh fish from Lake Titicaca and chocolate tastings. Later in the afternoon, you'll board an overnight bus heading to Sucre, which takes about 11 to 12 hours.

- Day 3
Sucre
You'll arrive in Sucre and drop your bags at the hotel. From there, explore the colonial capital at your own pace. The Museo de la Recoleta is a 400-year-old convent with city views and an art collection, or head to Plaza 25 de Mayo to see the ornate Senora de la Merced church.

Sucre
Another free day in Sucre where you can wander the white-washed streets and photograph the colonial buildings. If you're up for hiking, the pre-Inca Chataquila trek offers views of the Andes. Cal Orcko has over 12,000 prehistoric dinosaur footprints if you want something different. Grab empanadas or fresh juice at the Central Market.

Sucre to Potosi
You'll take a local bus to Potosi, about 3 to 4 hours away. This colonial mining town was once the wealthiest city in the Americas because of silver from Cerro Rico, but it declined as the silver ran out. You can explore the town and take optional tours into Cerro Rico itself or visit the Santa Teresa Convent Museum.

Potosi to Uyuni
The bus takes you to Uyuni, roughly 3 to 4 hours from Potosi. This remote town sits on the edge of the Altiplano wilderness, with Argentina and Chile just beyond. After you arrive, you'll have free time to rest because your three-day salt flats adventure kicks off tomorrow morning.

- Day 7
Uyuni Salt Flats Excursion begins
You'll head out early in a 4WD vehicle. First stop is Cementerio de Trenes where abandoned locomotives lie buried in the desert. Then you reach Salar de Uyuni, the world's largest salt flats, a vast white expanse with cactus-covered islands. You'll explore Inca Wasi island, which is covered in giant cacti and coral-like rock formations.

Altiplano Desert
After breakfast you drive through the Andean Desert past Chiguana Salt Lake and the active Ollague Volcano, then through colorful small lakes. The Siloli Desert has the seven-coloured mountain and Arbol de Piedra. You'll visit Reserva de Eduardo Avaroa and hike around Laguna Colorada where you can spot llamas, vicunas and foxes. Tonight you stay in a local community like Huayllajara or Polques.

Altiplano to Uyuni
Rise early to catch sunrise over the geysers, which are most active in the morning. If you want, there's an optional hot spring dip. You'll drive through barren landscapes to the bright green Laguna Verde, then explore Valle de Rocas and San Cristobal mining town. You'll be back in Uyuni by around 5 pm with a free evening. An optional group dinner and drinks is available.

Uyuni to Tilcara (crossing into Argentina)
This is a long travel day crossing into Argentina. You'll leave Uyuni at 6 am and reach La Quiaca around 1:30 pm. After crossing the border on foot and catching a taxi to the bus station, you'll have a brief lunch stop before heading to Tilcara by bus, arriving around 6 pm. The evening is free, with an optional group dinner available.

Landmarks La Quiaca - Day 11
Tilcara
Tilcara is one of Argentina's oldest continuously inhabited towns with indigenous culture going back over 10,000 years. You can visit the pre-Inca ruins at Pucara de Tilcara or check out the colorful Purmamarca hills nearby. Grab local street food and empanadas at Mercado Municipal de Tilcara. Your leader will help you figure out what to do with your time.

Tilcara to Buenos Aires
The morning is relaxed in Tilcara before you transfer to Jujuy for an evening flight to Buenos Aires. After you land in this vibrant city, you'll settle into your hotel and start getting ready for several days of exploration.

Buenos Aires
You'll explore Buenos Aires at your own pace. Walk through San Telmo's cobblestone streets and try some alfajores, or chat with locals over coffee about football. The Museo Evita is quirky and worth visiting, and La Recoleta Cemetery is where Eva Peron is buried. In the evening, head to Palermo's Plaza Serrano for tango and dining, or check out the colorful Caminito street and Boca Juniors stadium in La Boca.

Buenos Aires
Another day to explore Buenos Aires however you want. There's a polo day excursion, or you could visit an iconic bookshop, catch a tango show with dinner, or go to the Recoleta Cemetery. A football game at Maracana Stadium might be available too. Plenty of options to experience the city's vibrant culture and try the cuisine.

You'll have a free morning, then in the afternoon your leader takes you on an orientation walk around Microcentro, passing historic buildings on Avenida de Mayo including Casa Rosada. Stop for coffee at the traditional Cafe Tortoni, then wander San Telmo's streets and check out the antique markets. At 6 pm there's a welcome meeting to cover details for the rest of your adventure.

Buenos Aires to Colonia del Sacramento
Free morning in Buenos Aires, then you'll take a ferry across the Rio de la Plata to Colonia del Sacramento in Uruguay, about 1.5 hours away. This is Uruguay's oldest city and a World Heritage site. Walk the Barrio Historico along cobblestone streets, visit local museums, or climb the 19th-century lighthouse for city views. Spend time with locals over yerba mate tea.

Colonia del Sacramento to Estancia
You have the morning to keep exploring Colonia del Sacramento. There's an optional local Swiss cheese tasting at the market if you want. In the afternoon you'll transfer to Mercedes village where you'll stay at an estancia, a traditional ranch. Meet your hosts and get settled in for an authentic experience of Uruguayan countryside hospitality.

Estancia (Uruguayan Ranch)
You'll experience life on a Uruguayan estancia with your hosts. Participate in ranch activities like making empanadas, playing football or volleyball, or gathering around the campfire for music. You'll eat home-cooked traditional Asado, which is a BBQ, and ride horses in true gaucho style. It's a mix of activity and genuine rural hospitality.

Estancia
Spend the day enjoying the views across the estancia. Explore the surroundings at your own pace, relax, or if you want, head into nearby Mercedes Town for a walk along the river and grab some ice cream.

Estancia to Puerto Iguazu
Say goodbye to your estancia hosts in the morning. You'll travel to the Uruguay and Argentina border, about 1.5 hours away, cross into Argentina, then board a 16-hour overnight bus to Puerto Iguazu.


- Day 21
Puerto Iguazu to Foz do Iguacu
You'll arrive at Puerto Iguazu bus station this morning. A minivan takes you across the Brazil border and straight to the national park so you can see Iguazu Falls. After you've taken it in, you'll transfer to your hotel in Foz do Iguacu with free time to settle in.

Argentine Side
You return to Argentina to see the falls from a different angle. Follow boardwalks that get you extraordinarily close to the thundering waters. The falls stretch over two kilometres with more than 270 separate cascades reaching up to 80 metres high. There's an optional zodiac boat ride if you want to get right to the base. You'll head back to Foz do Iguacu in the afternoon.

Foz do Iguacu to Rio de Janeiro
An included flight takes you to Rio de Janeiro. After settling into your hotel, your leader takes you on an orientation walk. The rest of the day is free to explore. Visit Copacabana or Ipanema Beach, catch a soccer game at Maracana Stadium, take the tramcar up to the hillside neighborhood Santa Teresa, or head up Corcovado Mountain for views from Christ the Redeemer.

Rio de Janeiro
Welcome to Rio! At 1 pm your leader leads an orientation walk around the city. Then at 6 pm there's an important welcome meeting covering details of your time in Brazil. Rio locals say 'God made the world in six days, the seventh he devoted to Rio'. You're surrounded by Guanabara Bay with Sugarloaf and Corcovado mountains all around. An optional welcome dinner follows the meeting.

Rio de Janeiro to Paraty
A shared transfer takes you from Rio to Paraty, about 4.5 hours away. Explore this colonial town with cobbled pedestrian streets that partly flood at high tide. Wander the colorful colonial buildings, explore rainforest trails with waterfalls in the surrounding national park, take scenic boat trips through the island-dotted bay, or visit nearby Trindade village which has some of Brazil's best beaches.

You'll arrive Rio early to mid-afternoon with the rest of the day free to explore the city or relax at Copacabana Beach. That evening you'll gather with your travel crew for food, drinks and samba. Your leader has great recommendations for where to go.

Your final day has no planned activities. You're free to leave your accommodation anytime, just follow the hotel's check-out policies. If you want, keep soaking up the Rio sun. Your leader can arrange additional accommodation if you decide to stay longer, subject to availability.
