A really fantastic tour of Iguazu falls! Right from the start the team were quick to answer questions and help, a big thanks rob Ignacio for everything! On arrival everything was well planned, the tours were interesting and well run with lots of time to explore, tour guides (two guides, one for Argentina and one for Brazil) were friendly and knowledgeable. The tour made entry and navigation through immigration a breeze! Would definitely recommend

Best tour companies for Iguazu/Iguassu Falls tours
Looking at these tour companies in detail, Intrepid comes out strong in a few key areas - their local guides really know their stuff and the company has built solid relationships with communities along their routes. The tours run smoothly, which our travelers consistently mention in their feedback. Say Hueque takes a more tailored approach, working with each traveler to build custom itineraries. Their team stays in good contact throughout the planning process and during the actual trip. This personal touch makes a real difference when you're trying to plan something specific to your interests. TourRadar has hit some bumps with their third-party setup - quite a few customers mentioned issues with airport pickups not showing up as planned, and getting answers about problems took longer since messages had to go through multiple channels. The Iguazu Falls experience itself is clearly worth it though. While some hotels in the area could use updates according to recent visitors, the boat ride that takes you right under the cascading water emerged as a highlight that pretty much everyone loved. You get properly soaked but that's part of what makes it fun and memorable.
Popular Iguazu/Iguassu Falls Cruise Ships
Best places to start your Iguazu/Iguassu Falls tour
Most people kick off their Iguazu trip from Buenos Aires - about 27 of our recent travelers started there. Puerto Iguazu and Rio de Janeiro are tied for second choice with 19 travelers each and also Foz do Iguacu sees about 12 departures. Looking at our booking patterns, you'll want to lock in your tour roughly 2.5 months ahead (that's 77 days) especially since the top-rated options tend to fill quickly. This timing also helps you grab better hotel choices, which can make a real difference in your experience. March-April or August-September hit the sweet spot - you still get impressive water flow but with fewer people and nicer temperatures. Devil's Throat tends to quiet down late afternoon, while the Argentine side's upper and lower trails show their best face in morning light. Two full days works perfectly for most people, with your first morning best spent exploring the extensive Argentine walkways.

Which side of Iguazu Falls should you visit?
Both sides offer something special and you really should try to see them both. Brazil gives you those stunning panoramic views with walkways stretching 1200 meters that let you take in all 275 waterfalls at once — perfect for getting the big picture and those Instagram-worthy shots. Argentina gets you up close where you can literally feel the spray on your face with three amazing trails to choose from. The Lower Path runs 1200 meters giving you front-row views of the rapids and falls while the Higher Path spans 1300 meters and really gets your heart pumping as you stand at the edge of these massive cascades. Then there's the Devil's Throat Path a winding 1100-meter journey that takes you right to the edge of the falls with some incredible viewing platforms. One of our travelers Andres found the Argentine side particularly mind-blowing saying it was "spectacular and beyond expectations."
How do you get to Iguazu Falls?
Getting to Puerto Iguazu the gateway to the falls is pretty straightforward — you can fly or take a bus. While buses are an option flying is your best bet especially if you're working with limited vacation time. Our Best of Argentina & Brazil tour sorts out the logistics getting you to the falls on day 4 of a week-long adventure with flights to Puerto Iguazu included. Same goes for our Premium Argentina & Brazil tour which flies you in on day 3 of the seven-day journey taking care of all the transport hassles.
What are some unique ways to experience the falls?
There's way more to Iguazu than just the standard viewpoints. Want an adrenaline rush? Jump on the Great Adventure boat tour from the Argentine side — you'll cruise through 5 miles of rainforest in a truck then hit the water for a 4-mile boat ride through the lower Iguazu River getting completely soaked under the falls. If you're after something really special take a helicopter ride over the falls for a bird's-eye view that'll blow your mind. You can do both these activities from either side of the falls.
Can you visit indigenous communities near the falls?
Absolutely! The Guarani people have called this region home for generations and visiting their community is a fantastic way to understand the area's real soul. Our Premium Argentina & Brazil tour includes a Guarani community visit on day 4 where you'll see how they use native tools in their daily life and learn how they've managed to keep their traditions alive while living right next to one of the world's biggest tourist spots.
Do you need special visas to see both sides?
If you're from the US Canada Australia or China you'll definitely need a visa to check out the Brazilian side — make sure you sort this out well before you travel. Travelers on our 3-Days Iguazu Falls Tour always mention how helpful it is having a guide handle all the border crossing stuff it just makes everything run smoother.
