Itinerary
- Day 1
Hobart to Strahan
Your pickup starts at 7:30 AM from the Travelodge Hotel in Hobart, then you'll head through Tasmania's West Coast hitting three national parks in one day. First comes Mount Field where you'll walk to Russell Falls through rainforest, then Cradle Mountain-Lake St Clair National Park to see Australia's deepest freshwater lake. Franklin-Gordon Wild Rivers is next with its mountain ranges and ancient temperate rainforest. There's a quick stop in Queenstown to learn about Tasmania's mining history before you arrive in the harbourside village of Strahan for the night.

- Day 2
Strahan
Today you get to choose your adventure level. If you want something active, there's a guided walk through cool temperate rainforest out to the Henty Sand Dunes, which the Roaring Forties winds have shaped over time. If you'd rather take it easier, the Gordon River Cruise visits Sarah Island and the World Heritage Area with its ancient Huon pines. Later in the afternoon, everyone heads to Ocean Beach, Tasmania's longest stretch of sand, where you can see the dramatic Southern Ocean and get a sense of how remote this part of the coast really is.

Strahan to Launceston
You'll travel into Cradle Mountain-Lake St Clair National Park, which is part of the UNESCO-listed Tasmanian Wilderness World Heritage Area. Around Ronny Creek you might spot wombats in the alpine meadows. Walking options include a steep track up to Marion's Lookout with sweeping views, or a more relaxed six-kilometre circuit around Dove Lake with towering peaks all around you. After that, you'll stop in Sheffield to check out its vibrant outdoor murals before heading to Launceston for the evening.

Launceston to Bicheno
Start with Cataract Gorge, a natural reserve right near central Launceston where you might see wallabies on the scenic trails. From there you'll travel east towards the coast and stop in St Helens for lunch. Then it's on to Bay of Fires where you'll walk along white sand and turquoise water while learning about its deep cultural and spiritual significance for the Palawa people, Tasmania's First Nations custodians. The day finishes in the relaxed seaside town of Bicheno, which is known for its little penguin colony that comes ashore at dusk.

Bicheno to Hobart
Freycinet National Park is today's main focus. You'll climb up 1000 steps to Wineglass Bay Lookout for views over the white sand and turquoise water, then you can either head down to the beach itself or tackle the steep climb up Mt Amos for views across the peninsula. If you prefer something more relaxed, Honeymoon Bay offers scenic surrounds with pink granite peaks rising above coastal bushland. Cape Tourville Lighthouse is your next stop for panoramic views over the Tasman Sea. After that, you'll drive along the Great Eastern Drive back to Hobart and get dropped off around 5:30 PM.
