Itinerary
- Day 1
Cairo
You'll land in Cairo and have the afternoon to yourself before meeting up with everyone at 5 pm at your hotel. If your flight gets in early, the local markets are worth a wander, or head over to the Coptic Christian sector where you'll find quiet streets lined with historic churches dating back centuries. Once the welcome meeting wraps up, you'll have dinner with your tour leader and the rest of the group.

- Day 2
Cairo - Pyramids and Museum
Start the day at the Pyramids of Giza and the Great Sphinx, spending roughly 3 hours walking around these 4,500-year-old structures. From there, head to the Grand Egyptian Museum (which opened in November 2025) for another 3 hours to see one of the world's largest collections of Egyptian artifacts. Later in the evening, transfer to Giza Railway Station and board your overnight train to Luxor, which takes approximately 13 hours.

Luxor - Karnak Temple
You'll arrive in Luxor after the overnight train journey and head straight to the Karnak Temple Complex, the largest religious building ever constructed. A local guide will walk you through the massive system of pylons, obelisks, chapels, and the famous Avenue of Sphinxes as well as the Great Temple of Amun. Spend a few hours exploring this 4,000-year-old site, then return to your hotel to relax for the rest of the afternoon.

Luxor - Valley of the Kings
You'll start early, cross the Nile, and head to the Valley of the Kings with a local guide by your side. Spend several hours walking through some of the decorated tombs where 63 pharaohs were buried, including where King Tutankhamun's burial site was discovered in 1922. If you want to visit King Tut's specific tomb, let your leader know in advance and it can be arranged. After lunch back in Luxor, you'll travel to Aswan, a drive of around 4 hours.

- Day 5
Aswan - Free Day
This day is flexible and you can choose how to spend it. If you're interested, take a trip to Abu Simbel near the Sudan border to see two temples carved into the cliff face in the 13th century, one built for Ramses II and the other dedicated to Queen Nefertari. Alternatively, stay in Aswan to relax, watch felucca boats sail the Nile, use the hotel pool, and check out the markets at a slower pace. Later this evening, head to the bazaar before the group dinner.

Aswan - Temple of Isis and Nubian Village
Take a water taxi to Agilkia Island to visit the Temple of Isis, dedicated to the Goddess of health, marriage and wisdom. This temple was rescued from rising Nile waters in the 1960s and relocated, and features decorative pylons with some of Egypt's finest carvings. Your afternoon is completely free to relax and swim at your hotel. As evening approaches, you'll cross the river to a Nubian village to have dinner with a local family and get a real sense of how people live in the region.

Aswan to Cairo - Felucca Sail
Rise early and head out on a felucca sail along the Nile to catch the sunrise, watching the light reflect off the Saharan sand dunes. You'll have breakfast onboard, then return to your hotel for free time. A mid-afternoon flight takes you back to Cairo, arriving before dark. After checking into your hotel, you have the option to go out to dinner with other travelers on the tour.
