  1. Day 1

    Kuala Lumpur

    You'll arrive at Kuala Lumpur International Airport and get transferred to your hotel. After you settle in, the rest of the day is yours to rest and adjust. If you're arriving early, there's an optional dinner available at 7:00pm so you can meet other travelers or grab a meal without worry.

  2. Day 2

    Kuala Lumpur

    In the afternoon, you'll take a city tour hitting Lake Gardens, the National Mosque, and Independence Square. Then you'll walk through Chinatown and see the traditional Malay architecture in Kampung Baru. There's a photo stop at the Petronas Twin Towers, followed by a visit to Batu Caves Hindu temple where you'll climb 272 steps. Later, check out the pewtersmithing at Royal Selangor factory and spot Silver-Leafed Monkeys at Melawati Hill. Your evening wraps up with seafood dinner and a boat ride to watch fireflies.

  3. Day 3

    Crab Island

    You'll head to Port Klang and take a 30-minute ferry over to Pulau Ketam, also called Crab Island. Once there, take a leisurely walk through the stilt village and have lunch at a local spot. In the afternoon, you can rent a bicycle to explore or just wander at your own pace. After the ferry back, you'll swing by the Selangor Sultan's palace before returning to your hotel.

    Kuala Lumpur to Penang

    After breakfast, you'll leave Kuala Lumpur heading toward Penang with a stop at Bukit Merah to visit the Orangutan Research Facility. You'll take a short boat ride to Orang Utan Island, a 35-acre sanctuary where you can watch the orangutans and learn about their conservation. Then you'll visit the Ubudiah Mosque in royal Kuala Kangsar and see the old Sultan's Residence from a distance before traveling on to Penang and checking into your hotel.

    You'll explore Penang Island by trishaw, which is an eco-friendly bicycle rickshaw, visiting Fort Cornwallis, Tanjung City Marina, Clan Jetty, Khoo Kongsi, Acheh Street, the Islamic Museum, Yap Kongsi Temple, Kapitan Kling Mosque, Goddess of Mercy Temple, and the Penang State Museum. You'll also stop at the Cheong Fatt Tze Mansions. As part of the tour, you'll learn how batik is made traditionally and create your own handmade batik souvenir to take home.

    Penang to Sandakan

    After breakfast, you'll check out and head to Penang Airport for a one-hour flight to Sandakan. Once you arrive and check in at your hotel, you'll have free time for lunch. In the afternoon, you'll drive to Labuk Bay Proboscis Monkey Sanctuary to see the endangered long-nosed proboscis monkeys that are found only on Borneo.

  7. Day 7

    Kinabatangan River

    You'll check out and go to Sepilok Orangutan Rehabilitation Center to watch orangutans being fed and see the nursery. Then you'll walk through Tropical Lowland Dipterocarp Forest before boarding a boat through Mangrove Forest and the Sulu Sea to Lower Kinabatangan River Sanctuary. Lunch happens at Abai Jungle Restaurant, and then you'll explore the nature boardwalk. Later, you'll take an afternoon wildlife search cruise, watch the sunset, catch fireflies, have dinner at the lodge, and finish with a guided night walk.

    You'll wake early for a river trip to spot wildlife, then after breakfast, cruise upriver to Bilit Adventure Lodge for lunch. You'll participate in a community tree planting project that helps local residents. Around 15:30, there's a tea break with local snacks, then from 16:00 you'll take an afternoon river cruise to search for wild orangutans, birds, pygmy elephants, and other primates.
