The itinerary and guide were excellent. We cover the places we most wanted to see. The accommodation in Istanbul (Marisol) could have been much better. We stayed an extra night prior to the tour and found the hotel rather run down and ready for a renovation. We had to change rooms after 1st night as noisy and placed over the foyer where staff hang outside smoking and talking at all hours. 2nd room required and repair of the toilet flusher as it fell into the wall. A/C seemed to be set on heat and would not allow a change to cool. This was the case in ALL rooms and noted also by our travel companions. One couple changed hotels at end of trip rather than stay again (even though it was incl in the tour). Enough said on this. Our guide Ahmet was great. Always helpful, available and welcoming of any issue. Very knowledgeable of all the historic sites and Turkish history.

This was my first Intrepid Tour and am now looking forward to my next Intrepid trip. Our tour leader Murharrem was exceptional. He worked hard to ensure we had a great vacation and that we saw as much as possible while having a choice to rest if we wanted. His communication style and inclusive approach meant that group interaction was high and I'm sure every member really enjoyed the trip.

I owe the incredible success of the trip to the tireless efforts of our leader, Muharrem Orhan. He demonstrated deep knowledge, enthusiasm and patience with a very ethnically and age diverse group. He accommodated every wish we could think up and made the journey meaningful, relaxed, fun & safe. He reversed a lot of skepticism and anxiety about an unfamiliar culture with a thorough and balanced understanding of history & culture in the places we visited. As this was my first time taking a tour abroad I feel incredibly fortunate to have had him as our leader and hope he will be acknowledged and compensated for such exemplary dedication to his job.

Trip allowed for space to explore the country without the hassles of booking or arranging activities. This was a good way to explore and learn the history of the country mixing it with some good food and shopping. The group numbers are small enough that we are able to interact with the other tour members as well as our tour guide Our tour guide had a lot of knowledge of the places we visited and was happy to assist and gave us information about the different suggested areas so we made an informed decision as to the places to visit.
