Itinerary
- Day 1
Abersee/St. Gilgen
You'll arrive in Abersee or St. Gilgen and get settled into your accommodation. After checking in and picking up your tour documents, the rest of the day is yours to spend however you'd like around Lake Wolfgangsee. Take a swim in the water if you're up for it, or hop on a boat and explore the lake from the water. It's a good chance to get your bearings and relax after traveling.

- Day 2
St. Wolfgang to St. Gilgen to Abersee
Start by taking the ferry from Abersee across Lake Wolfgangsee to St. Wolfgang, where your hike begins. The trail climbs over Falkenstein toward the Fürberg inn, then you'll walk along the scenic lakeshore heading to St. Gilgen, a village connected to Mozart. You can either return to your accommodation by boat from St. Gilgen back to Gschwendt (Abersee), or if you prefer, hike back along the lakeshore path. The walking portion covers about 10km and takes roughly 3 hours.

St. Wolfgang to Schwarzensee to Strobl
From Abersee, take the ferry back to St. Wolfgang to start your hike toward Schwarzensee. Along the way you'll pass the Zur Lore inn, which serves freshly caught trout if you want to grab lunch there. Continue hiking to Strobl, passing around Bürglstein until you reach the promenade area. This day's hike covers approximately 17km with 417m of elevation gain and the same amount of descent. You'll stay overnight in Strobl once you arrive.

Strobl to Bad Ischl
You'll hike from Strobl along the Ischler Ache valley toward Pfandl, then through forest areas before reaching the imperial town of Bad Ischl. The Kaiservilla is included with your tour, so you can visit that. The town itself has attractions like Café Zauner and what's now the town museum in the former Hotel Austria, where Emperor Franz Josef and Empress Elisabeth got engaged. This hike covers about 13km with minimal elevation changes, and you'll stay overnight in a 4-star hotel.

Bad Ischl
Before you leave Bad Ischl, you have a few options depending on your schedule. Take the panoramic cable car up the local mountain Katrin for a hike with views of seven lakes spread out below. Or if you prefer relaxing, there's the Eurothermenresort Bad Ischl. Another choice is a shorter hike up Siriuskogel to reach a famous restaurant with a terrace offering great views where you can try local food.
