Reykjavik
You'll arrive in Reykjavik and head to your included hotel to settle in for the night. Depending on when you land, there's time to walk around Iceland's capital on your own and get a feel for the city before things get going tomorrow.

- Days 2 - 4
Westfjords Expedition
After breakfast, you'll have time to check out Reykjavik before transferring to the Ocean Explorer ship in the afternoon. From there, you're sailing into the Westfjords with dramatic cliffs and waterfalls. You'll visit Vigur Island to learn about Icelandic culture and see Arctic wildlife like puffins and seals. The day includes Zodiac cruises, kayaking, and guided hikes with stops at Mongufoss waterfall and possibly Flatey Island.

- Day 5
Denmark Strait Crossing
The ship heads north across the Denmark Strait between Iceland and Greenland. The Expedition Team gives presentations on Arctic history, wildlife, geology, and climate. You'll watch for seabirds and whales as you sail between the two countries.

Northeast Greenland National Park
You're navigating through Northeast Greenland National Park, the world's largest. The day takes you into King Oscar Fjord with its bright sandstone formations that stretch 70 miles. You'll also explore Segelskäp Fjord where limestone and dolomite layers create geological patterns.

Scoresby Sund Exploration
Cruise deep into Scoresby Sund, the world's largest fjord system, with Zodiac rides among massive icebergs and shore visits. You may visit Ittoqqortoormiit, East Greenland's most remote community, if conditions allow. The Expedition Leader and Ship Captain are monitoring conditions as you prepare for the upcoming eclipse.

Total Solar Eclipse
Ocean Explorer positions itself in Scoresby Sund for optimal eclipse viewing along the path of totality. The total eclipse runs from 2:34 pm to 4:35 pm, with totality lasting 2 minutes and 17.2 seconds from 3:34 pm to 3:36 pm. Guest eclipse expert Michael Zeiler will explain this rare Arctic eclipse event.

Landmarks Scoresby Sund - Days 11 - 13
At-Sea Transit
You have at-sea days while the ship heads south along the east coast. Relax in the Tundra Spa, gym, or sauna with large windows, and try the outdoor Jacuzzis. Spend time in the Discovery Library or watch from your veranda for Arctic landscapes, icebergs, and whales. The Expedition Team and guest eclipse expert offer presentations throughout the day.

Aappilattoq
You'll visit Aappilattoq, a settlement of about 100 people on Prins Christian Sund, one of the world's most scenic fjords. This remote community was established in 1922 and locals depend on hunting and fishing. The name possibly means 'sea anemone' or 'red' after the crimson mountain above town.

Landmarks Aappilattoq Prins Christian Sund - Day 15
Ivittuut
Explore Ivittuut, an abandoned mining town near Cape Desolation in southwestern Greenland, close to ancient Norse ruins. You'll see remaining mining structures like a barracks, storehouse, and cemetery. Look for muskoxen, Arctic hare, Arctic fox, and possibly semi-domestic reindeer from Greenland's only active reindeer husbandry operation.

Nuuk to Reykjavik
You'll arrive in Nuuk, Greenland's capital, and take one final Zodiac ride to shore. Then you transfer to the airport for your included charter flight back to Reykjavik. After landing, you'll transfer to your included hotel in Reykjavik.
