- Day 1
Launceston
You'll arrive in Launceston, Tasmania's second-largest city sitting on the Tamar River. If your flight gets in early, there's time to wander around at your own pace. Consider taking a boat cruise through Tamar Valley or heading into Cataract Gorge, where you can walk the cliffs and see how natural bushland blends with Victorian gardens. The scenic chairlift offers views from above if you prefer that approach. Later this evening you'll meet your Travel Director for a drink before the week officially begins.

Bicheno
This morning you're heading to Bridestowe Lavender Estate, Australia's largest lavender farm. You'll walk through rows of purple lavender while taking in the soothing aromas, and there's time to sample lavender ice-cream and honey made by 500,000 bees on site. After that, you'll pay respects at Legerwood Carved Memorial Trees, an avenue of trees carved to honor fallen WWI soldiers. Later tonight you'll head out to Bicheno to spot little penguins in their natural habitat.

Freycinet National Park
Freycinet National Park is today's focus, and you'll catch the Hazards Range glowing pink in morning light with brilliant blue ocean and golden sandy coves as backdrop. You can walk through Cape Tourville's eucalypt forest with its dusty green tones, then settle in for a relaxed lunch cruise around Wineglass Bay. The whole area offers that mix of dramatic mountain and water views that makes this part of Tasmania so distinctive.

- Day 4
Iron Creek Bay
You're heading south toward the Derwent River where a local palawa host welcomes you to country and teaches you about bush tucker. Next you'll check out the historic village of Richmond with its convict-built gaol and bridge, plus boutique shops if you want to browse. Old Hobart Town comes next, a model village recreating 1820s Hobart life. You'll stay at Iron Creek Bay Farm surrounded by 70 hectares of orchards, where you can pick fruit or join a guided tour. Dinner happens at the farm's restaurant featuring local Tasmanian ingredients, and you'll have views of Iron Creek Bay and Mount Wellington from your table.

Port Arthur
Today brings the World Heritage listed Port Arthur Historic Site with a guided tour from a knowledgeable historian. You'll take a cruise around the Isle of the Dead and catch rugged sea cliffs from Pirate's Bay Lookout. Tasman's Arch, Devils Kitchen, and the Blowhole are all part of the experience. By evening you're back in Hobart with the night to yourself, so you can pick from numerous restaurants and wine bars depending on what appeals to you.

Today it's your choice. You can walk through Hobart's city centre on a leisurely stroll or join a guided tour through gallery-lined streets and Georgian architecture. The Tasmanian Museum & Art Gallery holds 800,000 objects from fossils to fine art if that interests you. Or head into Tasmania's wilderness instead, tackling Mount Wellington for alpine forest and River Derwent views, or cruising around Bruny Island to spot fur seals and Australia's highest sea cliffs. It's your call how to spend the day.
