- Silvia· July 22nd, 2025I loved every bit of it! The group was great, the itinerary very intersting, and the CEO Svetlana the most wonderful help one could hope for!Show more
- Sharon· July 8th, 2025Overall, the tour was good. Said, the guide, sent a daily schedule, which helped with organizing. Sometimes, the information was not always clear, however, and he seemed annoyed when we asked for clarity, I was told that G Adventures doesn't do tipping kitties, yet my notes say that they do. It would have been very helpful on this trip as people were unsure of when and how much to tip. The trip notes should have stated that there would be a two hour walking tour of Bishkek. That city guide there was excellent unlike the one in Almaty, wh gave wrong information and would turn his back while talking. The yurt experience was terrible! There were three toilets and one shower for approximately 40 people. The shower consisted of two buckets of cold water, and the bins in the toilets were overflowing. Often, the drivers were often chatting as Said was talking, making it hard to hear him. There needed to be a 5-10 minute warning, when we were arriving somewhere by car, so that people could pack up their things, etc. Often, the orientation walks were just walking to a restaurant. It would have been helpful to have a printed map of the towns along with a guide of a few words (e.g. hello, thank you) in the native language. Also, a list of the hotels would have been useful as I've gotten them on previous trips along with where laundry was available. I was nervous on the hikes as Said and others who were quite agile took off and left some of us behind. When we had an assistant, Beck, he tended to be part way ahead, not in the back as instructed. Our last two nights, we were at restaurants where we didn't all fit at one table, which meant that people were excluded. I'm sure that there were other restaurants that could have been chosen. Overall, the tour was good, and Said was helpful when people needed specific information or help.Show more
- Matthias· June 2nd, 2025The tour was an excellent experience overall — stunning landscapes, friendly people, and a beautiful country to explore. I really enjoyed the journey. However, I was disappointed that we couldn't visit Song-Köl. The explanation about the weather was misleading — the camps simply weren’t open yet, which should have been communicated clearly beforehand. I could have booked for a later date. Also, the process of getting the visa invitation letter was frustrating and poorly handled, with slow and unclear communication from G and Sherpa. We started three months in advance, but Sherpa/G couldn’t get the eVisa on time. In the end, the "self organised" visa on arrival worked — but we still paid €200 for an unused eVisa service and LOI.Show more
