Itinerary
- Day 1
Kathmandu to Lukla to Phakding
Your adventure kicks off with a 40-minute flight to Lukla, which offers one of the more thrilling mountain approaches you'll experience. The flight itself gives you incredible views of terraced valleys and high peaks. After landing, you'll trek 3 to 4 hours down to Phakding, passing through areas with mani stone walls and getting views of Mt Nupla, Kusum Kangru, and the Kwangde Range along the way.

Phakding to Namche Bazaar
This day involves trekking through Sherpa villages and forests while crossing the Dudh Koshi valley. You'll have views of several major peaks including Kusum Kangru, Thamserku, Everest, and Nuptse. By afternoon you reach Namche Bazaar, which serves as the main Sherpa hub and an important trading center for the region. It's a significant settlement in the Khumbu area where you'll spend the next couple of nights.

Namche Bazaar
You spend the full day in Namche Bazaar exploring the village and nearby areas. There's a short hike up to Khumjung where you can see the market and get a feel for traditional Sherpa culture. From various points around here, you get views of Mt Everest, Ama Dablam, Thamserku, Nuptse, Lhotse, and Kwangde. This acclimatization day also gives your body time to adjust before heading higher.

Namche Bazaar to Tengboche
After breakfast you trek from Namche, going above the Dudh Koshi River before descending to Phungi Tenga and then climbing up to Tengboche. This village sits on holy ground and features a gompa where the Rimpoche lives. The location marks an important point on the Sacred Sites Trail Project and draws many trekkers and mountaineering expeditions. You'll stay here for the night with time to explore the monastery.

Tengboche to Dingboche
The trek today takes you through rhododendron forests while following a river up the Imja valley toward Dingboche. The terrain keeps to relatively gentle gradients, and you move at an easy pace due to the altitude. Dingboche sits in what locals call the 'summer valley' since it gets more sun and experiences less wind than nearby Periche. Views include Ama Dablam, Lhotse, and surrounding peaks as the day goes on.

Dingboche
This is your rest day in Dingboche, and it's important for acclimatization before you go higher. In the morning you can hike up to cabins at Chukhung if you want some activity. There's also a monastery in the village worth visiting, famous for housing what are believed to be legendary animal remains. You can explore around the Imja Khola area, and throughout the day you'll see views of Ama Dablam and Lhotse.

Dingboche to Lobuche
After breakfast you hike up to a yak farm where views of Tawache Peak and Cholatse Peak open up. From there the trail goes directly up to Khumbu Glacier by way of Duglha before you reach Lobuche. Standing on the ridge, you get excellent views of the Khumbu ice field, Pumori, and numerous smaller peaks surrounding you. It's a high-altitude day with significant elevation gain.

Lobuche to Everest Base Camp to Gorakshep
Early on you trek to Gorakshep while crossing the north rim of Everest, with views of Khumbutse and Pumori. Then you continue to Everest Base Camp, the furthest you can go without climbing gear. The base camp itself looks like a temporary tented town with expeditions from all over the world set up there. You'll see the Khumbu icefall, glacier, and surrounding peaks before heading back to Gorakshep for the night.

Gorakshep to Kalapathar to Pheriche
A 2-hour hike up a windy, rocky path brings you to Kalapathar, which offers direct views of Mt Everest. From this viewpoint you can also see Khumbutse, Lhotse, Nuptse, Ama Dablam, Cholatse, Tawache, and Pumori. After coming back down to Gorakshep, you continue down to Pheriche via Lobuche and Dhugla, passing chortens and stupas along the river as the landscape changes.

Pheriche to Namche Bazaar
After breakfast the trail drops down to Pangboche village where you can see the oldest monastery in this area. Inside there are what people say are Yeti remains. From Pangboche the trail follows the river, crosses a bridge, and goes through pine and juniper forests. Later you descend sharply to the Dudh Koshi River, pass through Phunki, cross the river again, and start ascending back toward Namche Bazaar.

Namche Bazaar to Lukla
Your final trekking day brings everything full circle as the trail drops sharply down to Lukla following the Dudh Kosi River. The trek ends on a positive note with the group back together safely. Throughout the day the landscape shifts as you descend to lower elevations. In the evening you catch the last mountain sunsets from Lukla and reflect on the journey you've completed.

Lukla to Kathmandu
This morning you take a scenic flight from Lukla back to Kathmandu, which offers final views of the mountains. Once at the Kathmandu airport your guide meets you and takes you to your hotel by private vehicle. In the evening the group gathers for a celebration dinner where you can share stories and reflect on finishing the trek together.
