Your flight lands in Buenos Aires and a pickup gets you to Hotel NH Buenos Aires City right in the historical center. The afternoon and evening are open, so use this time to settle in, freshen up, and get oriented. Rest up before the activities begin tomorrow.

Buenos Aires
After breakfast, the morning is yours to wander around on your own. At 2:00 PM you'll join a bike tour and can pick between two routes. The Historic South Circuit takes you through San Telmo, La Boca, and Puerto Madero, while the Elegant North Circuit covers Palermo and Recoleta. Both let you see the city on two wheels from a different angle.

Buenos Aires
Following breakfast, the day is completely yours. Head out to shop for souvenirs, go back to neighborhoods you liked, or just take it easy. If you want a proper goodbye to the city, catch a traditional tango show with dinner in the evening to feel the music and culture that makes Buenos Aires what it is.

- Day 4
Buenos Aires to El Calafate
After breakfast and checking out, you'll fly to El Calafate. Once there, make your own way to the hotel and check in. The rest of the day is free time to rest and adjust to being in Patagonia.

- Day 5
El Calafate
A transfer takes you to Los Glaciares National Park to see Perito Moreno Glacier. You'll spend about an hour at the viewing balconies taking in the panoramic views, then take a 20-minute boat ride before getting crampons and safety training. The trek itself lasts roughly 1.5 hours across the ice with bilingual guides. The whole experience from pickup to drop-off runs about 10 hours.

Head to the bus station yourself and catch the 8:00 AM bus to El Chaltén, pulling in at 11:00 AM. The ride shows off the Patagonian landscape nicely. Check into your hotel and if time allows, do some self-guided walks to get a feel for the area.

- Day 7
El Chaltén
After breakfast, you'll trek on your own to the base of Mount Fitz Roy at Laguna de los Tres, or explore the rocky peaks around here at whatever pace works for you. The choice of where to go and how long to stay is entirely up to you.

Another free day in El Chaltén to trek where you want. Laguna Torre is at the base of Cerro Torre if you want another popular hike, or go longer and head north along the glacial valley toward Lago del Desierto and Huemul Glacier. Set your own pace and do what appeals to you.

El Chaltén to Bariloche
After breakfast and checkout, you have some daylight hours to trek around or just relax in the village before your evening night bus leaves. The bus travels to Bariloche and passes through Perito Moreno Village along the way. Get some rest on the overnight journey.

- Day 10
Bariloche
You'll arrive late in Bariloche after the overnight bus ride. Make your way to the hotel and check in, then spend the rest of the day recovering and resting from travel.

Bariloche
After recovering from yesterday, explore Bariloche at your leisure. Renting a bike to ride the Circuito Chico loop is a solid option with great lake and mountain views, or try a shorter hike up Cerro Campanario if you want some of the best vistas in the area without going too far.

Bariloche
Following breakfast, a pickup takes you for a half-day kayak trip on Lago Gutierrez. You'll paddle through clean glacial water along a wooded shoreline, relax, and spend time in nature away from everything else.

Bariloche to Salta

Salta
The day after breakfast is free to explore Salta, a colonial city founded by Spanish settlers coming from Peru. Walk the historic streets, check out the markets, and soak up the local culture. Salta to Purmamarca
After breakfast and checkout, pick up a rental car for self-driving through northern Argentina. Today's route takes you from Salta through Purmamarca to Salinas Grandes, then back to Purmamarca where you'll spend the night. The drive shows off the high altitude landscape.

- Day 16
Purmamarca to Tilcara
Continuing by car, you'll go deeper into the Quebrada de Humahuaca UNESCO area. Drive through Purmamarca to see the famous Hill of Seven Colors, then on to Maimará with its colorful Painter's Palette mountain range. Check in at a hotel in Tilcara, known for its market, artisan shops, and Pucará de Tilcara fortress. In the afternoon, either visit a llama corral or drive further north to see Uquía's red rock canyon and the historic town of Humahuaca.

After breakfast and a free morning, head out around noon to drive to Hornocal Hills on your own. The route goes from Tilcara to Hornocal and back. The multicolored hillsides look their best in afternoon light, so timing your arrival for later in the day works well.

Tilcara to Salta
