Itinerary

Arrival
You'll arrive at your hotel and get settled in, then your guide goes over island safety and conservation practices to keep in mind during your stay. If you're up for it, there's an optional walk around the city to get oriented and see what's nearby.

- Day 2
Bolama
A motorboat takes you out to Bolama, Guinea-Bissau's former capital. You'll walk through the historic site with its crumbling 19th-century buildings, mangrove swamps, and old barracks where goats and children now roam freely. By evening you'll settle in at a simple eco-lodge for the night.

Landmarks Bolama - Day 3
Remote Island Beach Camp
You head to a more remote island and set up base at a beach camp. The day is yours to spend kayaking through mangroves, watching birds, or spotting dolphins and sea turtles in the water. As the sun sets, there's a bonfire dinner right on the sand.

Orango National Park
A park ranger leads you on a guided hike through Orango National Park, a protected biosphere reserve. You'll walk through palm groves and wetlands searching for the park's saltwater hippos, which are found nowhere else like this. You'll stay overnight at either a camp or basic lodge in the area.

The morning is spent in a village within Orango connecting with local elders. You'll watch traditional basket weaving, try rice pounding yourself, and have a traditional meal the community prepares for you, learning about their way of life.
